Job Description
The Canadian Head of Publisher Services & Strategic Partnerships is responsible for setting the country strategy for increasing revenue & new business specific to new and differentiated revenue streams. The Head of Publisher Services will build strategic alliances through senior level relationships with some of the biggest publishers, agencies and advertisers across the country.
The key mandate is to establish AOLC as the partner of choice for publishers, broadcasters and device companies defined by:
◦ Ad technology utilization for Yield Management and Audience Insight (Marketplace, Private Exchanges)
◦ Content Distribution on Company Brands and Platforms
◦ Syndication of Company content to third party platforms
• Align global partnership initiatives with local opportunity
• Act as the programmatic product expert
• Act as the voice of AOLC Supply-side offerings in the media, with partners, and in the broader industry
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide strategy and direction for all of Company’s supply side marketplaces & emerging platforms
• Maintain & develop solid publisher relationships across Canada and pursue new business relationship opportunities
• Craft and lead a comprehensive programmatic product strategy
• Independently prepare and present conceptual and detailed partnership proposals and summaries, for complex deals
• Work closely with Company Canada’s sales teams as the Demand DSP leader to identify and evaluate new revenue opportunities with major advertising partners.
• Work closely with Company Canada’s ad products & operations teams to identify potential partnership opportunities for advertising products and offerings
• Identify emerging industry trends (e.g., mobile, video, local) in advertising and key areas for growth; evaluate and execute on key partnership opportunities to enable growth
• Manage and develop a high performing team of local resources tasked with developing and managing day-to-day tactical plans
Qualifications
Skills:
• A solid understanding of clients’ business, industry, competitors, key drivers, environment.
• Ability to architect private marketplaces & online audiences
• Solid technical background on enterprise and programmatic platforms
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and external clients
• Ability to respond to frequent demands of multiple customers (internal and external)
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written) & customer service skills, strong analytical skills
• Quick learner with a flexible attitude to cope within a rapidly changing arena
• Self-starter and proactive ability to organize and handle multiple priorities
Qualified Candidates Will Have:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 15+ years’ combined experience in advertising sales, advertising operations, business development, and marketing experience
• Experience in programmatic media
• Experience managing complex strategic partnerships with an attention to detail and service
• Working relationships with top Canadian Publishers
