Orlando Sentinel is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our team!
Design editorial layout for specialty publications while maintaining associated website.
Responsibilities:
• Design all editorial pages of specialty publication, including covers, feature stories, photo spreads and departments.
• Work with editor to organize copy and photos within sections.
• Manage photography and art from a variety of sources including supplied and stock photos as well as original work by staff and freelance photographers. Assist with coordinating photo shoots.
• Layout editorial space.
• Prepare pages for typesetting. Align type and spacing.
• Release and typeset pages in NewsGate.
• Make and update NewsGate templates and shape library items as needed.
• Post stories on website in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Magazine experience is REQUIRED.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 2+ years of prior related experience
• Fully literate with Macintosh using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Must be creative and visually oriented, as well as literate in all of the technical aspects of production.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
