Department Profile:
The mission of the Global Technology division is to provide a highly reliable and commercial technology platform, which supports the Firm’s strategy, delivered by an innovative, world-class team of professionals. There are ten divisions within Technology.
Technology & Information Risk (TIR) is part of the Global Technology and Data organization and manages operational and technology related risks on behalf of the Firm. The group’s key principles are to provide proactive, comprehensive and consistent risk management, to enable the execution of the Firms strategy.
TIR's mandate is to enable the Firm to manage its technology and data related risks through implementing proactive, comprehensive and consistent risk management practices across the Firm to protect the franchise while capturing business opportunities. The TIR team partners with the business by ensuring that Technology and Data understands how to manage escalate and monitor risk.
Primary Responsibilities:
A role has become available within the Company IT Security group, in the Global eDiscovery and Investigations team. The primary focus of the role is performing data retrieval tasks, with the additional responsibility of case management. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global function within our Glasgow offices.
The Global eDiscovery and Investigation team respond to requests for collection and analysis of data from the Firm's electronic systems (including email, instant messaging, Internet usage, and file activity). The results are provided to a number of clients, including Legal, Compliance, and Human Resources.
The successful candidate will primarily perform eDiscovery and forensic investigations tasks, which involve retrieving and analyzing data from the Firm's electronic systems, such as from the email archive, Internet proxy, Windows desktop and network file servers. They will be well organized, have strong communication and time management skills, as well as a detail oriented approach. They will demonstrate good judgment, be confident working independently and comfortable with the handling of confidential information. In addition, the role will involve some case management, including client interaction, throughout the life-cycle of each request for data.
Skills Required:
• An understanding of forensic data recovery
• Strong technical skills and working experience with the Windows environment, and preferably within a large distributed organization
• Detail orientated and analytical, strong organizational and communication skills, judgment and integrity
• Comfortable with handling confidential information
• Strong spoken and written English
Qualifications
Skills Desired:
• Experience or understanding of IT Security, eDiscovery and PC Forensics
• Broad exposure to IT Infrastructure within the Financial Industry
• Technical experience in networking infrastructure, Linux/Unix systems
• Experience working in regulatory, compliance and/or litigation group within the Financial Industry
• Experience in working with people in different regions and timezones
• Certification in computer forensics (EnCE/ACE) is an advantage
