MORE ABOUT THIS JOB
GLOBAL COMPLIANCE
Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm’s culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm’s enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm’s compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveys and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape.
The newly formed business analysis group within Global Compliance will partner with divisional Compliance teams to design, and in some cases re-engineer, the various technological solutions that are deployed throughout our division (e.g., work-flow tools, dashboards, simple surveillances). Team members will report centrally to the business analysis and strategic projects team but will be embedded within the divisional areas that they support, providing a unique opportunity to develop subject matter expertise across a wide range of Compliance-related topics while benefiting from the opportunity to share best practices and receive coaching from a community of individuals who share a similar skill set. The business analyst (BA) will liaise with Technology and Compliance groups in order to lead requirement definition discussions, perform current state / future state gap analysis, document and maintain functional requirement specifications, and perform analysis that supports all of these activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Technically savvy, comfortable facing off with both business and Technology groups
• Very detail-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Working knowledge of financial markets and products
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
