Job Title
General Manager - Parents
The General Manager (GM), Parents Network leads and oversees the strategy, daily operations (staffing, production, scheduling, budgets) and general excellence of Company website and the Parents Network websites. This position works collaboratively with editorial, marketing, and technology groups, develops short- and long-term strategy for Company website and drives growth and innovation. The General Manager effectively communicates/translates strategy to managers/direct reports (Editorial, Production, Business Development, Marketing, Design) to ensure "Best of Class" web site.
In addition, this role:
• Develops 24 month product roadmap
• Drives scale and monetization plans
• Develops metrics targets and methodologies
• Aligns Company website with overarching Parents brand
• Effectively collaborates with Parents magazine to create value-driving programs
• Works with sales team to create unique value for marketers
• Develops and manages PR plan for Company website
• Maintains and manages operational budgets
• Participates in business development activities
• Develops and maintains collaborative culture
Essential Job Functions

Create and develop short- and long-term strategies that grow scale revenue and position Company as a category leader in digital pregnancy and parenting category across full canvas of digital Media.

Translates strategic vision for managers and staff to ensure that Company website publishes and maintains digital footprint that meet or exceed all quality standards, competitive benchmarks, and performance metrics. Leads and develops innovative and nimble culture that drives value for Company Interactive and Company as a whole. Attracts, motivates, and retains top level talent.

Oversees production, prioritization, and scheduling of new Web product launches as well as site enhancements and improvements. Collaborates with technical team to maintain product development cycle that delivers the best of class products on schedule and within established budgets.

Provides leadership to ensure the Company website drives value by collaborating and cooperating with Company Interactive groups and other Company business units.

Manages group budgets and ensure that expenses are in line with planned levels and spending has highest maximum return. Negotiate agreements as assigned by Vice President.

Participates in business development activities to ensure that revenue targets are achieved and Company Interactive engages in value-driving strategic partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Five to ten years experience managing online products and revenue streams for a large, successful media Web property. Proven track record of success in online product development, leadership, and innovative Web solutions.
Experience in the Home and Shelter category preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of online media landscape and various business models, with special emphasis on Home and Shelter category.
Keen understanding of Web metrics and traffic driving strategies.
Leadership skills that command respect and credibility among the entire teams as well as in the marketplace.
