Role Overview
As a Game Balance Specialist at an EA Mobile studio, you will work closely with the development team providing expert knowledge on casual mobile games. You have a deep passion for casual mobile games; Mobile gaming is not just something you do, it's who you are. Mobile games are the last thing you think about before you go to sleep and the first thing you think about when you wake up. You want others to love these games as much as you do and want to provide the ultimate gameplay experience for all player types (free and paying). Responsibilities
• Play a game in development continuously, evaluating economy balance and looking for optimal pathways to progress (try to break the game)
• Clearly articulate how to maintain balance, use provided tools to update balance variables, and validate that your changes provide a better gameplay experience
• Play competitor products and do both qualitative and quantitative tear downs of the features and balance of those games
Required Skills
• Written and Verbal Communication – Communicate information clearly and concisely. Engage in discussions and make compelling and supported arguments.
• Microsoft Office – Edit Microsoft Excel documents and create PowerPoint presentations
• Autonomous - Work with little direction and supervision
• Initiative / Resourcefulness - Seek out and take on new tasks. Identify, analyze and resolve issues independently
• Work Ethic / Level of Effort – Demonstrate interest, focus and high level of effort in work
• Reliable - Deliver work/results at or above time expectations
• Time Management and Prioritization - Understand priorities and organize time around these. Recognize when support is needed to prioritize work and/or offload work.
Minimum Qualifications
• Expert at casual mobile games, especially simulation games like Sims Freeplay, Design Home, and Kim Kardashian
• 18 years of age or older
• This position requires being onsite in Redwood Shores, CA
