Overview
To oversee the creative development of all wholesale and retail Free People Collection, We the Free and Intimate product pertaining to your specific categories as well as strongly influencing trend direction in all areas
Responsibilities
Management Responsibilities:
• Teach and manage your designers in a positive and constructive manner while nurturing creativity at all levels
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with the other design departments, production, tech, merchandising, sales, agents
• Recruit and identify your needs for a strong design team so you have a group of designers who add value to the needs of your design categories
Creative Responsibilities:
• Work with Design Director to initiate and direct all silhouette, print and fabric trend meetings for each season. Recognize and accurately forecast fashion and cultural trends.
• Work with Design Director to provide key outfits for every season
• Work closely with Senior Designers and their teams, providing inspiration and feedback for each season on a regular basis
• Be able to view collection as a whole and be able to identify any needs across divisions and balance line accordingly, keeping both creative and business objectives in mind
• Work with Design Director to merchandise and prepare for all MSR’s in order to show creative vision for collection
• Travel for inspiration and have group meetings to be able to show your samples and inspirations
• Coordinate periodic inspiration meetings where all design members participate regardless of what category they cover
Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
• Special projects as needed
Qualifications
Education
A Bachelors degree is expected.
