We are currently looking for a very strong Financial Analyst to join our team supporting four executives.
Major Responsibilities:
30% - Support the monthly forecast cycle; track variances, changes in business drivers, FTE adjustments,and all other business activity affecting the financials.
• Collaborate with business partners to develop and update budgets, forecasts and models.
• Perform financial analysis and create models utilizing key financial indicators and business drivers. Develop clear and transparent descriptions of models / driver based tools. Create and maintain documentation outlining individual component calculations. Document key challenges and modifications made to projections.
•Ensure data is complete and accurately entered into financial systems.
•Document and track variances and changes noted during each iteration of the process.
•Enhance process documentation to establish standardized approaches and templates.
•Develop, implement and maintain communication packages to present results and recommendations. Coordinate and lead business review meetings.
25% - Report on key business drivers, develop financial summaries and provide business unit results and analysis to operation leadership. Coordinate management review meetings to discuss summaries and recommendations.
25% - Contribute to an environment of continuous improvement including streamlining and increasing efficiency of both our internal financial processes as well as the overall mortgage operations processes. Identify improvement potential through variance analysis, metric or process deep dives and derive solutions and facilitate related decisions and action steps. Work with other finance / operations groups to understand intricacies of current methods or processes to reduce complexity, cost and / or time to process.
20% - Ad Hoc financial analysis, benchmark review and metric inclusion, benchmark data gathering and submission and / or operating process deep dives.
Qualifications:
• BS / BA in Finance, Business or Accounting required; MBA and mortgage lending knowledge desired.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience of applicable financial reporting, accounting, planning and analysis in a comparable business environment.
• Must be able to demonstrate analytical skills, comfort with Finance and Accounting principles and an understanding of financial drivers.
• Must be able to effectively analyze data, summarize findings and communicate projections.
• Be able to think end-to-end, outline options to resolve issues and possess a detail oriented hands on approach to removing / resolving issues and developing solutions.
• Be flexible and adaptable to shifting needs, evolving priorities and urgent situations that arise.
• Be able to work independently, effectively partner and have good team building skills.
• Possess very strong communication skills – both written and oral.
• Expert level MS Excel knowledge (Advanced Pivots / Charting Mandatory)
• Excellent proficiency in MS Word and Powerpoint.
• Experience using Essbase / Hyperion Mandatory.
• Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines.
