Responsibilities
The role is part of the head-office Controllership function located in Company City, Los Angeles. It resides with domestic home entertainment – $1bn revenue generating business.
The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting with the key domestic quarter close and financial reporting processes, and distribution partner reporting. This person would have a controllership or finance background with strong technical skills and familiarity with managing financial statements and analyses. Prior SAP/BW or Microstrategy experience is preferred, but not required. A qualified candidate must be able to multi-task and balance priorities on competing initiatives. This position reports to the Manager of UPHE Controllership, supports the Senior Director of UPHE Controllership and will work closely with the FP&A team, Domestic Supply Chain Operations, and global controllership.
Job Duties
Supporting the Controllership team with monthly and quarterly closing processes, preparation of journal entries and corporate data requests.
Reconcile and analyze movements in key balance sheet areas including preparation of quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
Manage UPHE Global Title Management (GTM) requests for UPHE & distribution partner titles & deals
Review distribution partner contracts & maintain deals summary matrix
Reconcile distribution partner statements, and work with the Participations team to identify and resolve variances
Manage a suite of distribution partner reporting and analyses on a monthly and ad hoc basis
Manage ad hoc data requests across various businesses
Work closely with the Controllership and global business teams to drive simplification, process improvement and standardization across the group

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Accounting or Finance

Excellent excel, financial analytical skills are essential
Knowledge of Business Warehouse / SAP and Microstrategy a significant advantage
Strong analytics and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and high standards in quality and accurate reporting
Strong candidates will be well organized and able to prioritize multiple and competing priorities
Demonstrated strong communication skills and a pro-active approach to building working relationships in a matrix environment
Media/Entertainment experience is desired
