In addition to our internships being paid, we will also offer the following for our Academic Year interns:

Academic Year Recruitment Timeline:

Job Description
Academic Year Internship Program:

Program Dates:
September 16, 2024 – April 18, 2025
Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.
Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Company City, CA.

Company Filmed Entertainment Group:(UFEG) consists of the operations to produce, acquire, market and distribute filmed entertainment worldwide in various media formats for theatrical, home entertainment, television and other distribution platforms. The division operates globally with colleagues spread across 20 countries. We pride ourselves in supporting and amplifying diverse stories told by unique voices. Company Studio Group: (USG) encompasses Company’s television production studios: Company Television (UTV), Company Content Productions (UCP), Company International Studio, and Company Television Alternative Studio (UTAS). USG produces over 100 scripted and unscripted series across multiple countries around the globe for buyers in broadcast, cable, and streaming. Network partners include NBC, Peacock, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Apple, HBO, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, CTV, ABC, FOX, and ABC among many others. As part of USG, Stamford Studios is a full-service production facility and is the home to some of NBCU’s most popular daytime programming including Maury, The Steve Wilkos Show, and Karamo.
Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
- Global Distribution – International Finance:This intern will be involved in sales and revenue forecasting, working directly with the sales organization to develop and review revenue budgets in over 100 territories and responsible for creating and maintaining deal analysis/financial models, and provide insight to key trends in the markets.
- Global Distribution – Controllership:This intern will support the Controllership team with monthly and quarterly closing processes, preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate data requests.
- Company Pictures Home Entertainment – Global Finance:This intern will support the team in improving the accuracy and efficiency of monthly forecasting process, creating new financial models and trackers, and day-to-day operations – including financial consolidation, territory forecasting calls, submitting corporate financials, and assisting in regression refresh.
- Company Filmed Entertainment Group – Production Finance:This intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks which can include distribution of confidential production documents as well as non-confidential finance material, digital filing and labeling as needed, research projects, organizing confidential material with the Department’s various digital systems, and updating databases as requested.
- Company Current Production Finance: This intern will have ownership of digital record-keeping processes for our shows, P-card management, invoice coding/processing, and creating or maintaining cheat sheets, for important show info.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025). December 2024 graduates are not eligible for our 2024-2025 Academic Year Program.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2024 to April 2025). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 16, 2024 to April 18, 2025.
- Must be willing to work in Company City, CA.
Desired Characteristics:
- Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Previous internship or work experience within finance.
- Strong interest in the media industry.
- Ability to multitask and highly organized.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
The hourly rate for student interns is $25.00
INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ATTENDING U.S. UNIVERSITIES:
To participate in Company’s 2024-2025 Academic Year internship program, you must confirm at the time of interview that you will be able to provide US work authorization documentation for the entire duration of the internship. Since the NBCU Academic Year Internship Program spans the traditional “Fall” and “Spring” semesters, you should talk to the DSO at your school’s International Students Services Office about your need to apply for CPT work authorization twice to ensure you are authorized to work both semesters and throughout the entirety of the program.
Please also note that future visa sponsorship at Company is rarely available for post-grad employment opportunities.
