Fall 2017 Internship - Company Television Research
The US Research and Analytics teamprovides research-based analysis and insights for SPT programs and platforms, as well as competitors, for the organization and sales teams. We collect, track and analyze Television and multi-platform data from a variety of syndicated media research sources, create reports, sales presentations, POVs and marketing collateral, and assist in the development of overall strategies positioning SPT programs and platforms in the marketplace. We transform data into actionable insights and provide consultative value to internal and external clients.
Responsibilities:
Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Compiling qualitative and quantitative research using various third party systems and proprietary data
• Researching competitive television landscape- including linear, digital and SVOD
• Preparing, maintaining and distributing reoccurring research reports
• Analyzing local, national, digital and syndicated television ratings
• Creating local overnight metered market ratings reports
• Creating and editing sales presentations and marketing collateral
The intern will gain experience/exposure to the following:
• Exposure to all other departments within the US Sales, Marketing and Programming teams
• An understanding of the media/programming landscape and the role research plays
• A working knowledge of syndicated research systems and report execution
• How to read ratings and all media performance based reports
• How to assemble research materials for sales, marketing and organizational consumption
Qualifications:
Requirements for the role (technical skills, educational requirement, interest or coursework)
• Enrollment in an accredited college/university for the duration of the internship is required
• Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Knowledgeable and passionate about television, digital entertainment and advertising
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Self- starter
Program Information:
SPE’s Fall Intern 2017 Program is a 12-week part-time program from September 25-December 15, 2017. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship and must be available for the full 12 week session.
