The Role
Location - On Site in Cantabria Spain
The Factory Controller provides financial and commercial expertise, fostering transparency in financial performance and connecting it with non-financial performance KPIs of the factory. They collaborate closely with the Factory management team to comprehend performance levels and utilize that insight to facilitate informed business decision-making. Together with the Factory management team, the FC fosters a culture of regular progress reviews and attainment of outcomes from diverse investment and efficiency initiatives, aligning them with enhanced factory performance. The FC collaborates closely with the Regional Finance team and other Global Supply Chain teams to harness knowledge, experiences, best practices, and insights from internal and external benchmarks.
The FC ensures the establishment of a robust control environment in the factory and adherence to Company Global policies and procedures. They also oversee compliance with all local legislation pertaining to areas such as VAT, Local GAAP, Taxes, etc., working in tandem with the Regional Finance team and Centers of Excellence within the Global Finance organization. Leveraging support from Finance Shared Services and Global Business Services, the Factory Controller ensures that the factory Finance team prioritizes business partnering and provides comprehensive support to the factory team for success.
Principle Accountabilities
- Maintain accurate and transparent recording and reporting of monthly factory performance, highlighting underlying performance drivers clearly and objectively.
- Provide actionable reporting to facilitate course correction and/or acceleration of positive performance developments.
- Lead the Finance team in the factory, ensuring the achievement of objectives and fostering the personal and professional development of colleagues in an inclusive environment.
- Support the Factory team in developing investment proposals for the Regional team, anticipating stakeholder challenges and proactively addressing them to expedite approvals and enhance value.
- Maintain a strong focus on working capital forecasts and ensure the robustness of balance sheet reviews.
- Uphold a stable control environment to minimize surprises during Local and Group Audits, minimizing disruptions for Factory management.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
- Holds a degree in finance, economics, or an equivalent qualification.
- 3-5 years of experience in a Factory Controller role, within an International FMCG environment.
- Proficient in utilizing SAP or other major ERP systems to maximize operational efficiency.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills, capable of comprehending and articulating complex concepts effectively.
- Knowledgeable in local GAAP and IFRS standards.
