Position Summary:
The Engagement Marketing Managerwill develop and execute the content marketing strategy (including social media), audience engagement plan and reporting for services including Company Nature’s flagship journal, Nature. The role will also implement launch and ongoing marketing plans, including social media engagement, for new services and projects developed within Company Nature.
Responsibilities include:
• Building end-user engagement and developing our social media channel strategy to deliver against appropriate KPIs.
• Developing and testing a range of marketing communications tools to maximise the reach, effectiveness and relevance of Company Nature‘s content/services.
• Planning and implementing Nature’s social media strategy in collaboration with editorial teams.
• Developing and delivering end-user launch and usage campaigns for new Company Nature services.
• Providing regular reporting (including recommendations) on audience engagement and provide data-driven market intelligence into editorial and product teams.
• Sharing best practice with internal stakeholders on the most successful engagement campaigns.
• Ensuring that NRG social activity is consistent with brand values, policies, tone of voice, etc.
• Liaising with external vendors and develop partner relations.
• Monitoring industry trends including initiatives from other sectors and making recommendations to enhance Company Nature‘s digital performance.
• Proactively developing knowledge of existing and emerging competitors, their services and audience engagement strategies.
Job Requirements:
Essential
• Undergraduate degree (ideally in publishing, business or communication/marketing) or equivalent industry experience.
• Solid marketing and/or journalistic experience.
• Proven track record of contributing to successful marketing and social media campaigns, working within budget and focussing on proven analytics and reporting
• Excellent written communication skills, including advanced journalistic and editing competence.
• Fluency with major online social media platforms and their analytics; experience with web analytics such as Google Analytics.
• Experience of copywriting, proof-reading and editing in a digital context including managing social media platforms and audience development.
• Enthusiasm for science, and a basic knowledge of the topics and fields.
• Organised; self-motivated; able to balance priorities; able to demonstrate a calm and professional approach when working to deadlines; pro-active.
• Awareness of building collaborative and effective working relationships both internally and externally.
• A commitment to developing marketing best practice.
• Willingness to learn, understand and apply new processes and technologies. Innovative and creative in approach.
• Broad understanding of commercial client expectations, budget cycles and spend.
• Ability to travel internationally as required.
Desirable
• Professional marketing qualification.
• An awareness of online advertising principles and the issues facing the industry.
• Good presentation skills; comfortable with presenting to and working with senior managers.
