Responsibilities
Responsible for providing client services and support to various departments at Company Studios Hollywood and CityWalk in pursuit of environmental, health & safety compliance and continued development of a business-wide safety culture.
Essential Functions
• Supports administration of all Environmental Health and Safety Programs, including but not limited to PRCS, Electrical safety, Powered Industrial Trucks, Working at Heights, Personal Protective Equipment, among others. Assists with annual written program review & update.
• Performs classroom facilitation of training content on a variety of Environmental Health and Safety topics. Must be able to comfortably articulate objectives of material, maintain decorum and control of an audience, and provide administrative support for long term documentation and records retention.
• Supports Compliance Assurance program through participation in audits, inspections, and risk assessments for the site.
• Supports the Industrial Hygiene program by performing field assessments, basic interpretation of data, complete necessary documentation, and share results with clients.
• Chemical Management – administers the requirements of the Chemical Management program and drives compliance with applicable regulations. Coordinates completion of area chemical inventories & audits. Reviews and approves chemicals for use at facility. Maintains active/approved chemical list for the business ensuring compliance with current MSDS information readily available. Drives awareness and continuous improvement related to chemical labeling, storage & handling.
• Responds to safety concerns reported to the Safety Hotline/Concern Reporting system. Participates in near miss/incident investigation process. Takes action to resolve client/customer service requests raised to the Department. Actively participates and supports department driven activities, events, safety committees, etc.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a safety, occupational health or industrial hygiene field preferred or equivalent and proven work experience.
• 3-5 Years: experience in the Safety and Occupational Health field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to work overtime, and/or on weekends with short notice
• Must be willing to work at the Park in Company City
• Must have strong computer skills and familiarity with MS Office Suite
• Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
• Prior theme park or amusement park employment experience highly desired
Desired Characteristics
• Professional designation such as CSP, CIH, OHST, CEM or other nationally recognized professional designation preferred but not required.
• Strong oral and written communicator.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
