Job Title
Editor - Company website
The site Editor is responsible for assigning out, editing and posting content on the site. She or he will work closely with the Digital Director to make sure the site’s content adheres to the site’s voice and vision and helps the site to meet its traffic goals.
Essential Job Functions
60% Assign and edit stories, slideshows, blog posts, quizzes and other content for the site
20% Maintain homepage and other promotional areas on site
20% Write and edit posts as needed
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required, in a related field preferred, but not mandatory. Related would be journalism, creative writing, etc.
Experience:
Five years in an editorial environment, with at least two of those years working as either an editor or an associate editor. At least two years’ experience writing and editing for the web. Experience writing magazine-style content.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style, strong writing skills, idea-generation skills, and leadership abilities. Extensive experience using Microsoft Office products, most especially Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficiency of current social-networking environment is crucial. Incredibly strong attention to detail and a demonstrated history of this in multiple positions. Must be flexible. A strong leader and creative thinker.
