The Role:
A unique opportunity exists for a bright, organized, detail-oriented, hardworking and energetic individual to work with the Diversity & Inclusion team at Company.
Candidates must have exceptional communication, program management and event planning skills, the ability to multi-task efficiently, excellent judgment/discretion and the desire/ability to work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. They should also be comfortable and confident in working with leaders and employees on all levels and across a diversity of domestic and international markets.
The successful candidate will report to the VP Diversity & Inclusion and be responsible for working within the team and across the organization to support the development of initiatives and programs to attract, retain and promote a diverse global work force and create an inclusive culture, including support for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), administration/ logistics, communications, learning and development initiatives, partnerships and events.
Responsibilities:
• Logistics, Coordination & Planning Management: for D&I training, initiatives, meetings and events, including internal and external partners/vendors and key stakeholders. Includes, but is not limited to core event planning (food, space and calendar coordination), agenda prep, promotions and summary communications and messaging (drafting/distribution), attendee and facilities management and related duties.
• ERG Support: support center of excellence communications with and management of ERG’s, including:
◦ Coordinating communications, center involved initiatives and events, including facilities management, catering, equipment, attendee lists, promotional materials, etc.
◦ Tracking and reconciling collective ERG budgets
◦ Develop and maintain a master ERG event calendar
◦ Develop and maintain evaluation system and provide quarterly reports on progress/gaps
◦ Coordinate with marketing and PR to support and drive ERG communications (events, initiatives, impact, etc.)
◦ Coordinate travel for team to attend events
• Best Practices & Benchmarking: conduct benchmarking assessments and competitive and marketplace research on D&I trends, learning & development programs, Best/Next Practices and technology.
• Communications, Assessments & Evaluation: research and draft intranet content, messages, talking points, reports and presentations. Create and conduct surveys and other quantitative, qualitative and statistical analysis to track/evaluate impact and effectiveness of D&I efforts, programs, training and initiatives for inclusion in reports, presentations and other communications. Create digital signage, flyers and other marketing materials.
• My Nation Webmaster: create portal communications plan and editorial calendar to align and drive global D&I strategy including, drafting and managing content (soliciting from ERGs and creating original content) in coordination with D&I team members, PR and Corporate Communications.
• Administrative Support: coordinate, implement and perform a broad spectrum of tasks relating to internal and external D&I initiatives and programs that require independent decision making and judgment, effective communications, time management skills and a high level of discretion. Duties include, but aren’t limited to:
◦ Assisting in the coordination and management of training schedules
◦ Coordinating and maintaining VP’s schedule and team calendar of events
◦ Maintain Diversity calendar & monitor mailbox
◦ Arrange business travel and accommodations as needed
◦ Prepare and submit expense reports as needed
◦ Create correspondence as needed
◦ Provide general clerical support
Competencies:
• Above average communications skills (messaging, writing, listening and presentation)
• Ability to create compelling presentations, flyers, communication material
• Proven experience organizing and planning events
• Ability to network and communicate effectively with employees on all levels
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated passion for Diversity & Inclusion, comprehensive understanding of purpose and goals
• Positive enthusiastic, can-do attitude
• Good judgment and sound decision making skills
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree in Human Resources, Communications and/or Organizational Development and Design
• 1 to 3 years’ experience in Diversity and Inclusion, Human Resources, Corporate/strategic communications or similar
• 1 to 3 years’ experience organizing and executing large and small scale events
• Superior command of Microsoft Office applications – including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
