KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Develops and delivers sophisticated, high-level estate, tax and financial planning advice to high net worth clients. Activities include interpreting and reviewing legal documents, consulting on estate and tax implications, and strategizing on various estate and tax planning techniques.
• Works with assigned Wealth Management partners to deliver sophisticated financial, estate and tax planning advisory services for Company’s highest net worth and most influential clients.
• Assist clients and their tax professionals with the implementation of planning strategies that address income, estate and financial planning issues.
• Stays current on existing and changing regulations and legislative rulings governing estate and tax planning and strategies.
• Understands a client’s financial situation and personal circumstances, while providing thoughtful, appropriate advice for the client’s situation aimed at securing the client’s confidence and financial services business.
• Understands the compliance issues, documentation processes and expectations required in the client relationship building and maintenance phases.
• Generates and implements creative or unique solutions to solve client issues or problems.
• Serves as an expert resource for Wealth Management partners on client planning strategies directed to high net worth individuals.
• Assists Wealth Management partners with the delivery of seminar presentations to clients regarding financial, estate and tax planning strategies.
• Assists in training of Wealth Management, Trust Company and other segments of the company on sophisticated planning topics and on client relationship development plans that are focused on asset retention and account growth.
• Assists with the writing or editing of tax or planning articles for various Company publications.
• Understands features and benefits of Company’s products and investment strategies.
• Understands and has knowledge of competitors’ offerings.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Requires a law degree with an emphasis on tax planning, and minimum of 3 years of experience in providing estate or financial planning services (preferably in private law practice with significant high net worth client experiences); 7-10 years experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in use of appropriate research and planning tools. Experience with spreadsheets (Excel), flowchart generation (through PowerPoint or otherwise), and income/estate tax preparation will be beneficial.
• Must comply with all regulatory requirements and remain in good standing with regulatory agencies, the bar associations and/or professional boards.
• Knowledge of income and estate planning laws, regulations and business practices. Position requires advanced capabilities for analyzing and communicating complicated financial and tax concepts in a manner a client can understand and appreciate.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability and experience in understanding a client’s financial situation and personal circumstances, while providing thoughtful, appropriate advice for client’s situation aimed at securing the client’s confidence and financial services business.
• Prior experience in high net worth relationship management is beneficial, but not required.
• Excellent public speaking, interpersonal and writing skills required.
• Extremely high importance placed on this individual’s ability to quickly gain the trust and confidence of our clients as a “first-call” resource for estate and financial planning matters.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced professional environment and to adapt quickly to rapid changes in technology and procedures periodic travel required for client meetings, training and speaking engagements.
