Overview and Responsibilities
As a director on the user platform team at Company, you will oversee the effectiveness of the technology platform used to deliver authenticated video viewing across Company. The “TV Everywhere” business model is a key driver of Company’s future growth as it allows the company to grow consumption of content on digital platforms in a way that contributes to the value of the cable TV bundle and enhances Company’s place in the pay TV ecosystem. To be successful, Company must allow it’s users to easily and reliably authenticate with their cable provider credentials in order to view Company content on websites, and apps across the full range of established and emerging platforms and devices. This role is for a leader that works across Company’s affiliate sales unit, the Company product teams and Company technology to make the authentication experience great for consumers while allowing Company to build partnerships with the cable providers. A key focus will be on strategically building Company’s capabilities in areas like home-based authentication, single sign on and international market coverage while working across the company to facilitate increased executational discipline in the current platform offering.
Responsibilities:
• Become a trusted partner to the affiliate sales organization, providing deal and implementation support by acting as a bridge between the business and technology
• Develop and prioritize strategies to make authentication easier, working across Company engineering to scope features, gather and synthesize requirements, make informed prioritization decisions, set and track KPIs, and manage the commercial, legal and business process aspects of shipping new capabilities
• Act as Company’s advocate with the OATC and other relevant industry and trade groups
• Develop Company’s partnership with Adobe (and others) to ensure that the company fully leverages its strategic platform partnerships
• Act as a subject matter expert in the realm of TVE, infusing that expertise across Company
• Ensure clear and complete communication at both the strategic and tactical level, build trusted relationships in all corners of the Company organization
• Faciliate executional discipline by clearly setting goals and objectives and empowering the right functional talent to deliver value
Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS in Computer Science or other relevant degrees highly preferred
• 5+ years of product management or business/IT strategy in a media company – direct exposure to TVE a big plus
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development
• Familiarity with pay TV business
