Company Networks Inc. is looking for a Director of Talent Relations and Events who has prior experience working with all levels of talent, as well a background working on high profile events including red carpet premiere events. The Director is a proactive, independent thinker, with a creative sensibility and great attention to detail. Resourcefulness and a can-do attitude are key. Reporting to the SVP of this department, the Director of Talent Relations and Events will be responsible for developing relationships with multiple venues and vendors on both the west and east coast. Director will plan and oversee the implementation of event logistics including venue selection, technical services, entertainment, food, meeting rooms, hospitality suites, accommodations, and travel. Director will work with freelance events staff in the planning, set up, implementation and take Company websiteor adheres to approved event budgets and will independently negotiate rates and discounts for all event components. Director will build upon and enhance relationships with key external contacts. Director will be assigned to plan an event in its entirety from concept to creative to execution. Such events include cast dinners, award ceremony dinners, press tour events, sports-related events or company functions. Director collaborates and communicates effectively yet has the ability to operate independently. Director will also focus on sponsor outreach for brand experiences at Company events. Director has the experience and deep understanding of the nuances of working with top level talent and industry representatives. Director will work closely with the department on the day-to-day talent requests from across the company and CBS Corporate.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Events: Special Events of all scales to include red carpet premieres, cast dinners, venue scouting, invitation list support, Press Tour, Comic-con, SXSW, sports or other company events
Talent Relations to include photo shoots, approvals, affiliate requests, Company and CBS Corp. requests, award gifting
Company website include reviewing budgets, miscellaneous talent and executive requests
Qualifications:
• Typically has 10 or more years of experience with 5 or more years of management experience in special events and all levels of talent.
• College graduate preferred.
• Resourcefulness -- Must have a “can-do and leave no stone unturned” attitude. Director adheres to budgets and is able to independently negotiate rates and discounts for all events.
• Meets with, maintains and enhances relationships with key vendors and venues and seeks out new venues and vendors on an on-going basis.
• Department requires ability to move at a rapid pace efficiently and effectively, able to meet deadlines from across the company.
• Grace under pressure for both events and with talent.
• Must be able to handle numerous last-minute requests, requires ability to be resourceful and quick thinking to resolve a matter in the most seamless way possible.
• Presentation (this department often interfaces with executives and talent on a moment’s notice) and organizational skills (there are many moving parts on a daily basis) are key.
