We are seeking a Director of Solution Architecture in our Minnetonka, MN office.
The Dir Solution Architecture will manage/direct and provide leadership to the solution architects team in DRProS (internal consulting organization) while working closely with cross-functional teams within the company to fulfill short and long term customer business solution and technical requirements. The Dir Solution Architecture will continually expand their knowledge-base through research and staying abreast of the latest techniques and leverage that knowledge to bring about technical leadership to the team and driving continuous improvements involving our platform, people and processes. The Dir Solution Architecture will be a subject matter expert across several areas of the business and platform, a trusted leader both externally and internally, and a key driver of sustainable and re-usable implementation patterns.
What You’ll Do:
• People Management
• Planning: Define goals and determine the optimal course of action towards achieving the department/company goals
• Organizing: Develop the proper organization structure and chain of command which leads to organizational effectiveness and a high performing team
• Talent Acquisition: Attract/retain, Select/hire, and promote high caliber talent to achieve the objectives of the organization
• Coordinating: Communicate, supervise, and direct relevant staff ensuring that leadership guidelines are in place to manage a function
• Talent Management: Establish performance standards/objectives and conduct ongoing performance review discussions to ensure each employee’s performance meets set objectives to support salary action recommendations. Provide ongoing coaching and continuous training/development.
• Technical Leadership
• Serve as a chief technical liaison between clients, sales, and project teams at Company during both sales and implementation
• Provide overall solution and technical guidance to Client Delivery and QA teams
• Maintain repository of enterprise commerce architecture, process, and solution artifacts to enable re-use and cross-team knowledge sharing
• Share best practices and be consultative to clients and business lines throughout duration of the sales process and engagement
• Develop training design, documentation, and delivery approach
• Internal Process
• Promote opportunities for process improvement and solutions
• Provide leadership/guidance for solution analysts/Solution architects or counterparts to execute on the engagement plan
• Research and stay abreast on new processes and techniques
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Computer Science/Related Field,
• 12+ years of experience in Solution Architecture
• 7+ years of direct management experience
• Concrete leadership skills including strategic thinking, fostering teamwork, cultivating relationships, and demonstrable experience leading teams through change
• Working knowledge of web protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, TCP, etc.)
• Working, hands-on experience coding HTML, Javascript, XSLT, JSON
• Experience integrating multiple systems via APIs, software and database technologies
• Experience with Linux and Linux command line utilities and tools
• Demonstrated experience supporting, testing, and delivering technical solutions in a client-facing organization
• Established experience delivering cross-platform solutions and ability to explain technical concepts to audiences within all levels of an organization
• Advanced technical analysis and process definition skills
• Accredited problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and ability to multitask on competing priorities
• Remarkable written and verbal communication
