Reprise - Director, Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
The importance of our Director, SEM role cannot be overstated. The Director, SEM serves as the primary day-to-day client for one of IPG Mediabrands’ largest clients, and will lead arguably one of the best Search teams in the country based on recent awards. This role involves deep client vertical knowledge which leads to managing the Account Plan, and further growing the client’s profitability for Reprise Media. Being well versed in the areas of search and Adobe Analytics is essential for this role.
Essential Functions
• Coach and mentor team of 15 and growing
• Evaluate staffing needs and makes recommendations for direct reports training/development, performance evaluations & regular feedback
• Ensure direct reports have received all tools and training to succeed in their roles
• Primary client contact and interface for the Search business
• Primary contact for partner agencies for the Search business
• Relationship liaison between the client, the partner agency and the Search practice
• Develops client / partner agency presentations and leads all external communication on Search strategy
• Develops Search (SEM) strategy in conjunction with peers in the Search and digital practice
• Project manages and ensures the timeliness and quality of client deliverables
• Develops a deep understanding of the client business, relates this to the growth of the Search practice and effectively communicates this to peers
• Identifies up-sell and cross-sell opportunities through strategic and tactical campaign management, with detailed attention to profitability and client success
• Interpretation of client reports, with specific insight to testing validation and refinement of campaign strategies
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate value proposition, technology, processes and partnerships as they relate to client growth
• Support external business development and marketing Companies such as new business and case studies
• Supports and drives corporate culture Companies
• Play an active role in the building of relationships with key parties and individuals on behalf of Reprise
• Participate in building and evolving Reprise vision and areas of expertise
• Lead conversations in industry growth and development through panels and industry events
• Lead, motivate and manage a growing team to work collaboratively to drive effects that meet our clients business objectives
• Cultivates a culture based on team work, intellectual curiosity and facilitates the development of best practices
• Offer guidance support, direction and provide development opportunities and ongoing feedback
Qualifications
Education:
• BA/BS or equivalent in Marketing, Economics, Stats or a related field is preferable
Work Experience:
• 5 +years of combined experience in performance marketing, paid search (SEM) or paid social is required
• 4+ years demonstrated success in managing people
• Paid Social experience is a plus
• SEO experience is a plus
• Experience managing annual budgets greater than $10M
Skills:
• Ability to judge and quantify results of advertising/promotional efforts placed on behalf of our clients (i.e., understand true value of ROI, understand/describe impact of results, compare actual results to needs of client) and the knowledge of how to apply this information in future campaigns.
• Proven leadership ability and previous client relationship experience
• Senior level client negotiation and management skills with the ability to write clearly and to make lively, imaginative, but substantive presentations
• Significant performance marketing, search or paid social experience is an absolute requisite; including research, forecasting, planning, execution and performance analysis
• Experience in growing, managing and inspiring internal teams; strong leadership and administrative skills
• Self-confident, action oriented, entrepreneurial
• Strong interpersonal skills including clear communication skills and positive attitude
• Well versed on the latest news within the industry that fuel opinions on latest trends for clients to consider
• Proven ability to represent company philosophies and expertise to external parties; including clients and partner agencies
• Exceptional analytical skills, demonstrated through analysis and interpretation of raw data and information
• Continued enthusiasm towards the medium and the desire to constantly educate one’s self on the latest information
• Solid organizational skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail, and accuracy when working with numbers
• Have basic story-telling abilities, as well as, ability to lead virtual and in-person presentations
• Strong knowledge/background of Google AdWords, Bing Ads and other web analytics tools
• Expert on at least one bidding platform such as Marin, Kenshoo or DoubleClick
• Working knowledge of online performance tracking and brand measurement tools, as well as, leading edge media target profiling technology
• High competency level in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required
• Ability to multitask and handle other duties as assigned
