Director of Sales
Job Title: Director, Sales
Reports To: Executive Director Business Development
Department: Business Development
The new experiential division at Company will conceive, execute and activate creative, immersive, on brand experiences for our clients, as well as develop innovative new revenue-generating CN tentpoles in partnership with the brands.
The Director of Sales at CN Experiences is an accomplished and skilled salesperson that is ready to embrace the new “Experience Economy” and create business opportunities within the experiential marketing space. In this role, you will be responsible for prospecting for new business in the experiential and event marketing industry by leveraging existing brand relationships and networking with industry leaders.
Responsibilities
• Pursue new business opportunities through the development of proactive ideas to solve client issues
• Responsible for knowing and being able to identify key markets and target verticals for sales and oversee strategy and execution of those efforts
• Lead successful integration of resources across multiple departments in response to new business opportunities
• Conduct ongoing competitive research to identify new clients and client needs
• Manage and own delivery against significant revenue and client goals; provide timely status updates on key drivers and necessary contingencies of these goals
• Develop sales processes, both internal and external, to standardize the approach, pitch and contract stages of the sales funnel using available software and tools
• Drive the sales funnels toward revenue goals set forth by the Executive Director. As part of this, provide accurate and up-to-date sales forecasts to the Executive Director and leadership team
• Evaluate sales metrics related to funnel performance, identifying areas for improvement, strengths and weaknesses, then creating a clearly-outlined plan for improvement
• Create and oversee three functional sales pipelines: Inbound Pitch Requests, Outbound Sales Outreach and Qualified Sales Opportunities.
• Oversee the competitive positioning of the organization; including the analysis and collection of market data
• Responsible for aggressively maximizing the potential sales volume of all segments of the market
• Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and maintain thorough client records
• Create a positive work culture where success is defined by performance, client satisfaction and positive internal collaboration
• Ability to work with other departments and coworkers as a part of a team
• Ability to think across channels to sell 360 marketing strategies that integrate digital, social media, branded content, PR etc.
• Ability to work under pressure on any assignment
• Have a complete understanding of, and adhere to the policies of Cn Experiences
• Attend meetings as assigned
Recommended Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
• 7+ years in sales management
• History of aggressive sales growth
• Experience in the industry and a sales background in experiential marketing is a plus
• Strong verbal presentation, storytelling skills and presentation building
• Superior writing skills and excellent interpersonal relationship building skills
• Demonstration of key competencies: accountability for business results, client focused, team effectiveness and creative thinking
• Strong prospecting skills and excellent closing skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
