The Director, Revenue Marketing is responsible for securing and executing on revenue and subscriber growth strategies with domestic Multichannel Video Programming Distributors (MPVDs) affiliated with Company. This position works directly with MVPD sales, marketing, VOD and TVE teams to increase STE service subscribers through multi-tactical consumer marketing campaigns and affiliate sales channel programs while driving viewership and recognition for STE and its products and services in the marketplace.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and implement strategy to maximize STE subscriber unit and revenue growth with affiliated MVPDs across their national operational footprints. Ensure that all activities provide optimal value to STE respective of affiliate agreement terms and economics.
• Establish and nurture relationships with MVPD decision makers including corporate marketing, product management and sales leadership. Understand key objectives, challenges and opportunities for STE within affiliate business units in order to facilitate the advancement of STE objectives and initiatives.
• Implement marketing and sales channel initiatives with affiliated distributors for the promotion of STARZ services and Original Programming resulting in increased sales volume, subscriber retention and revenue growth. Formulate campaign plans that will maximize ROI for STE; negotiate campaign terms with affiliate decision makers that result in favorable ROI outcomes.
• In collaboration with STE Consumer and Brand Marketing, determine the most favorable utilization of all MVPD cooperative marketing funds to achieve revenue, subscriber and product engagement goals across partner platforms.
• Secure optimal affiliate positioning and packaging for STE products by analyzing specific MVPD market conditions, acquiring and analyzing data, consulting with internal and external sources, and presenting concepts to affiliate decision makers.
• Maximize carriage of STE services across affiliate MVPD platforms (linear, OD, TVE). Present STE’s product portfolio to affiliate product and marketing executives, reinforcing consumer and financial benefits.
• Troubleshoot affiliate environment, market conditions, and competitive situations to meet or exceed goals.
• Track subscriber and revenue results and forecasts of each assigned business unit to ensure revenue growth goals are achieved and exceeded.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide specific account information to the Executive team as part of contract renewal process with MVPD’s. Create new opportunities for distribution of STE services and offerings.
• Monitor compliance of affiliate deals as it relates to pricing, packaging, and positioning of STE services, immediately communicating any real or potential concern in compliance.
• Secure optimal affiliate positioning and packaging for existing products by analyzing MVPD market conditions; acquiring and analyzing data; consulting with internal and external sources; and presenting proposed positioning and packaging to affiliate decision makers.
• Collaborate with Sr. Director, Sales Channel Development on setting priorities and direction for Account Managers in supporting MVPD programs.
• Supervise and manage Account Manager direct report(s), providing ongoing direction and coaching. Execute administrative tasks and conduct formal check-ins and performance reviews as directed by Human Resources and the EVP of Distribition.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor Degree
• Minimum seven years’ experience in a Sales or Marketing role preferably within the TV entertainment field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with a variety of MVPDs with extensive knowledge of their video platforms.
• Must have strong communication, negotiation, strategic, creative and analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of the current televeision and entertainment industry landscape.
• Demonstrated sales and sales leadership skills.
• Must have a strong work ethic, integrity, and good business acumen.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
