The Director of Retail Operations, Walmart is responsible for increasing account penetration and overall connectivity at the highest level of Walmart’s operational leadership. Primary responsibility is selling regional programming to RGM’s and providing local programming to drive Mondelēz International’s revenue to plan.
Additionally the Director of Retail Operations will develop and execute regional customer business team strategies while collaborating closely with the Mondelēz International’s Region VP’s, Region Directors of Retail and District Managers to grow revenue and customer relationships.
• Build and implement strategies that safeguard Company International revenue retention in largest Walmart market area in the US
• Works with the customer business team to define the overall area strategy
• Analyze and assess the effectiveness of all existing customer connectivity to drive greater operator awareness, value proposition and partnership potential
• Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to improve, develop and advocate new promotional opportunities to drive retail conversion
• Contribute in developing business plan and annual budget for eCommerce channel. Supervises development efforts including content design and update
• Acts as a liaison between IS department and outside vendors for development and maintenance of the web site
• Agree, align and acknowledge WM home-office strategies and tactics at store level
• Build Company business with the customer as measured by profitability achievement, share gains, volume targets, special programs and new item introduction
• Ensure the appropriate support mechanisms are in place for customer business teams to achieve business results
• Coordinate and leverage Company mass, brand equities, planning activities and cross-functional resources
• Provide a single point of accountability to the customer for all Company activities
• Identifies and pursues opportunities to shape the customer’s current and future business practices to grow Company display share while strengthening Company as a preferred growth partner
• Form strategic partnerships with customer senior management
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required
• A minimum of 5 years sales, grocery retail experience with a strong background in DSD
• Proficiency in Retail Link and related tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint) required
• Must have excellent analytical, presentation and oral/written communication skills
• Familiarity with POS and syndicated data (e.g. Retail Link, ACNielsen) is needed
• Analytical aptitude including ability to develop sound insights across multiple data sources
• Ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities
• Strong follow-through and prioritization skills. Initiative, self-motivation and a strong sense of urgency are essential
• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks/projects while delivering results and meeting deadlines
• Travel will be roughly 35% and a company car is included
