Overview and Responsibilities
Company International Media Networks is searching for a passionate and experienced Research, Consumer Insights & Analytics Director, with experience preferably in in the Latin American market. This person will report directly to the VP of Research, Consumer Insights and Analytics, and will be responsible for supervising, guiding and mentoring three managers locally stationed in our Miami HQ office and three analysts remotely stationed in our Latin America regional offices. This role will specifically focus on the Company Brands and will therefore also work very closely with the regions Brand Heads & Programming Team.
In addition to coordinating brand and channel viewer studies, the Research Director will spend a majority of their time analyzing and interpreting research data using qualitative and quantitative methods, compiling and analyzing industry intelligence and competitive information and delivering meaningful insights and strategic recommendations for programming initiatives across all platforms. The Research Director will be responsible for generating actionable insights and recommendations from the various data sources, for Sr. Management, the Brand Programming Team and the Content Management Team, enabling the optimization and strategic scheduling & windowing of our brands’ content across multiple platforms, in order to improve brand performance and maximize revenue. This role will also support the brand initiatives to maximize revenue in areas such as Consumer Products and Program Sales.
The Research Director will work with various teams across the organization, who utilize research data, such as Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales, Communications, Digital, Finance and Marketing and will routinely meet with them to understand their insights needs and execute best-in-class research to address them. This director will attend various weekly meetings with various departments to provide updates on channel performance and competitive activity.
In addition to analysis of TV ratings, the director will be responsible for the collection and analysis of web traffic, app usage, social media and other audience tracking sources as it applies and is needed to be able to draw objective inferences and conclusions about the brand as a whole. The Research Director is responsible for delivering actionable recommendations for growing audiences, deepening user engagement and maximizing impact.
Basic Qualifications
• 8+ years performing metrics-based business analysis in support of management decision-making for TV, online and other digital platforms, preferably within Latin America.
• Proficient in IBOPE and Omniture software, ComScore, Application Annie and MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
• 3+ years’ experience managing team members.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related Science Sciences field.

• Ability to package research results into actionable formats, and work cross-functionally to ensure the insights are well understood, correctly interpreted, and optimally applied.
• Ability to apply expertise in research, and the presentation of data, to see beyond numbers and interpret findings into objective yet meaningful results.
• Ability to tell compelling stories using insights - connects the dots and surfaces learnings from past research to apply today, while looking for themes and big ideas and socializes them without prompting.
• Experience in utilizing cross-platform research data to create thoughtful and innovative audience analysis and be able to provide holistic analysis and insights on the brand as a whole.
• Knows how to design a research project to meet the needs of the business question and can find which approach best serves the purpose.
• Excellent presentation skills at all levels of an organization and especially to non-researchers.
• Is a phenomenal communicator, written and verbal - can write concise, thoughtful summaries on short timelines, for executive audiences.
• Has mastered working with multiple stakeholders and peers in high stress environments, with varying personality types, and still be able to adapt communication and management style to achieve overall collaboration.
• The ability to be diplomatic with a high level of cultural sensitivity.
• Highly motivated and proactive self-starter, superbly organized, strategic thinker who immediately recognizes tasks and executes without prompting.
• Ability to manage resources to achieve project goals within time and budget constraints.
• Excellent management skills, including the ability to clearly and consistently provide direction, feedback and development to team.
• Experience within the Latin American market.
