Company News NY1 is available on channels 1 and 200 for Company customers throughout New York City’s five boroughs. Company News NY1 serves Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island and provides 24-hour local news, politics, features and weather seven days a week. The network is also available on Cablevision systems in Brooklyn and the Bronx on channel 8, on Bright House systems in Central Florida on channel 1210, in Hudson Valley (New York) on channel 1, and in North Carolina on channel 215.
The 24-hour news channel shares content with its sister channels in the Company News Networks family: Company News channels in Albany, Hudson Valley, Syracuse, Binghamton and Buffalo, New York; in Austin and San Antonio, Texas; and in Tampa and Orlando, Florida.
JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Regional Programming will oversee the production of multiple weekly regional long form programs on Company Networks; includes On Stage on NY1, Spotlight NY on NY1, and weekly news magazine programs in North Carolina and Austin regional areas. The ideal candidate with be a creative problem solver, and an innovative thinker that can accomplish great achievements with a small team, making sound editorial news decisions. This person will be a story teller who knows how to dig deep and find unique angles.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accountable for the execution of long form regional programming ensuring delivery of all regional content on time and within budget while meeting or exceeding quality standards and expectations.
• Oversee execution of 4 weekly shows on Company Networks, including the NYC Arts & Entertainment group (On Stage and Spotlight NY) and weekly news magazine programs in North Carolina and Texas.
• Establish procedures to facilitate workflow of regional production.
• Develop overall strategic plan to deliver innovative long form regional programming.
• Manage Sr. Executive Producers, Executive Producers, and production teams in multiple regions ensuring fluid workflow and operations.
• Create, develop, and execute original content for regional shows.
• Accountable for plans and teamwork assignments, for directing work efforts, reviewing integrated project plans, and escalating and communicating resource needs.
• Work closely with the VP Original Programming, Director of Regional Programming, Director of Post Production & Video Operations, and all News Directors on content quality and execution.
• Act as a liaison between Executive Producers and VP Original Programming.
• Coordinate and partner across departments in creation of promotional and digital materials in support of original programs as needed.
• Guide communication and content distribution of editorial materials across regional networks.
• Responsible for managing regional programming budget.
• Will require some travel.

Education/Related Work Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience; Masters preferred.
• 10+ years of experience producing long form and magazine news pieces.
• 10+ years demonstrated experience in creating content that creates audience growth; revenue streams and/or high impact television.
• 7-10 years show budget expertise.
• 7-10 years of experience in investigative/documentary/ newsmagazine production.
• 8+ years of experience coaching and mentoring talent
