Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for the following functional areas at SXM: Procurement, Purchasing and Travel & Expense. This will include managing all resources, systems, policies, and contracts associated with these areas. The Director will ensure efficient processes and strong controls are in place while providing quality customer service for the internal and external parties utilizing these areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Identify strategic cost savings opportunities for SXM business owners.
• Manage and support the use of a standard sourcing process and system (currently Jaggaer).
• Lead and facilitate supplier selection and negotiation best practices.
• Establish and maintain savings tracking methodology and report on realized savings.
• Oversee the Company T&E policy and ensure employees are reimbursed promptly according to policy.
• Own the Company Travel & Expense system and contract (currently Concur).
• Oversee the Company Purchasing policy and ensure all SXM purchasing commitments are being created in compliance with company policy and controls.
• Own the Purchasing system (currently Oracle).
• Manage all resources in this area to ensure the responsibilities above are being performed appropriately.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Directly supervise four employees who make up the Purchasing, Procurement and T&E teams. These employees are currently all either Managers or Senior Managers.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree is highly preferred along with 12+ years in a Procurement or Purchasing environment.
• Must have a proven record of strong negotiating, analytical, strategic, financial and planning skills.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Must be highly motivated with the ability to drive change with minimal supervision.
• Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
• Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing).
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
• Good public speaking and presentation skills.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• MS-Office Suite skills are a critical (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Concur Travel & Expense, Oracle Purchasing, Jaggaer Sourcing (formerly SciQuest) experience is preferred.
