About the Role
As the Director of Operations Strategy and Planning, you will report to the VP Operations and oversee strategy and planning for our fulfillment network (5 warehouses, 1.5m sqft, 1500+ employees). You will manage our multi-million dollar shipping budget and will bring world-class analytical and leadership skills to our transportation and network planning teams. You will solve our thorniest operations problems and develop operational strategies that will shape the company for years to come. You must be comfortable with both high-level strategy and in-the-weeds execution.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will...
• Develop our US fulfillment strategy (e.g. where/when should we open our next warehouse).
• Develop and execute our shipping strategy (e.g. should we use regional carriers, zone skipping).
• Develop and execute our import strategy (e.g. should we use freight forwarders, consolidators).
• Oversee our transportation function. Own our multi-million dollar transportation budget and improve costs/transit times with our small parcel carriers (e.g. USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.).
• Oversee our network planning function. Optimize workload and inventory across our network and make sure that we have enough space in our buildings. Improve the planning process.
• Build world-class analytics to help us solve our thorniest operations problems (e.g. how can we cut out processing time, balance labor, maximize throughput, minimize cost, save space, etc.).
• Build a financial tracking/forecasting capability to ensure we are hitting our financial goals.
• Work closely with our warehouses, data scientists and software engineers to develop and execute strategies (get your hands dirty!).
• Manage and grow a team of 3+ Managers and Analysts.

• A college degree. MBA is a plus.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in operations, analytics, finance or product management.
• 5+ years of experience in ecommerce.
