North Park University would like to take this opportunity to announce that applications are now being accepted for the position of Director of Sports Information/Game Management. This is a full time, 12-month position within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Write releases and feature articles, edit and design media guides and game programs, maintain historical records, and compile statistics.
• Maintain, review, and update the Athletics Department website and social media sites (rosters, schedules, biographies, previews, etc.).
• Develop a budget for sports information and keep expenditures within budget parameters.
• Coordinate the gathering and dissemination of game day statistics, live streaming, and sports information.
• Responsible for the planning and execution of home game day operations (recruit, assign and pay of official scorers, announcers, timers, statisticians and game day student personnel).
• Provide media support for special events (Hall of Fame Ceremony, Senior Athlete Awards Ceremony, All-Athlete Gathering, etc) and serve as primary media contact for all North Park’s 17 intercollegiate sports.
• Represent North Park University at CCIW sports information meetings and communicate in a timely manner with other SID’s to gather and exchange information.
• Nominate North Park Athletes for Conference, NCAA, regional and national awards in a timely manner.
• Coordinate pay of officials for all home contests.
• Hire and supervise student-workers and interns for the Athletic Department.
• Knowledge of NCAA and CCIW rules and regulations.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the director or associate athletic directors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Successful sports information and game management experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with statistical software (i.e. StatCrew, Live Stats, SIDEARM, Boxcast).
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. InDesign, Photoshop).
• Must be able to work an untraditional work schedule (i.e. frequent nights and weekends).
• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• Personal commitment to North Park’s mission of Christian higher education.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
