We currently have an opening for a Director of Operations. This position will be located in Burbank, CA.
Position Overview
Work closely and collaborate with Vice President, CEA Operations to plan, organize, and develop the business / operations and assist in the overall daily administration of a diverse organization.
Primary Responsibilities
• General manager for day-to-day operations of Authoring, QC and Video Compression working on multiple projects
• Primary person in charge of Planning, Scoping, Scheduling, Resource Allocation, Risk
Management and Timely Delivery of CEA products
• Constantly working on maximizing operation efficiency and staff utilization and reducing inefficiency and costs by automation and process improvements
• Work with Operations and Customer teams to manage capacity and schedules
• Work proactively with the operational managers across worldwide Company groups to ensure operational targets are being met, review procedures and promote quality standards.
• Lead, motivate, develop, appraise and support the team.
• Be commercially aware of any changing market conditions. Be technically conversant in order to deal with any questions and issues that may arise from clients and employees.
• Interface directly with corporate functions (including Finance & Accounting, Legal and Human Resources), internal business units and departments (creative production, technical production, client services and sales, research and development, and IT) and have interaction with the external clients as needed
• Will assist the Vice President with daily administration duties (examples include leading meetings, generating business plans, resolving finance and accounting issues, reviewing legal contracts and resolving human resource issues).
• Will provide high-level planning support to the Vice President (DDS) and drive various operations and staff development programs (help develop divisional goals, objectives, policies, procedures and plan, organize and direct the activities of the division).
• Will also manage complex division projects and lead teams to complete projects in a successful and timely manner.
• Will be responsible for driving operating consistency and coordination between business units, managing the integration process for mergers/acquisitions and new business startups.
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years progressive operational and management experience.
• Full knowledge of DVD and Blu-ray Compression and Authoring. Knowledge of Digital Delivery Operations preferred.
• BS/BA degree required. Graduate degree preferred (MBA).
• Exceptional senior leadership skills and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and manage effectively (listen, influence, develop, motivate and lead others).
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex and high-level projects and tasks. Individual must possess a drive for success and a proven track record for seeing projects through to completion.
• Experience in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Experience in multimedia, software and/or creative production environment preferred.
• Demonstrated high-level and cross-functional experience dealing with finance and accounting plans (including the generation of business plans), human resource programs (including staff development, reviews, organization design), and legal issues (reviewing business contracts, leases, non-disclosure agreements, intellectual property, etc.).
• Strong and efficient computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, plus experience with project management, flowcharting and database software).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends to meet project deadlines.
