Company Inc. is looking for an experienced Director of Marketing Analytics with a strong passion for leading Analytics teams and projects that assess and deliver actionable insights which drive improved business performance. They must have strong leadership skills with a focus on leading high profile marketing, customer and business analytics projects and teams.
In this highly dynamic and fast-paced environment, this individual will be responsible for establishing baselines in a marketing test & learn culture, reporting on marketing program measurement and effectiveness, assessing marketing and business opportunity and understanding and communicating cross-concept and omni-channel customer insights. They will be integral in transforming the way that the Organization consumes and reacts to customer data. This position will have the opportunity to develop strategies, present findings and share insights with multiple business leaders throughout the organization including merchandising, marketing, supply chain, operations, finance etc.
The role is positioned within Company Inc.’s Customer & Business Analytics department. The Customer & Business Analytics department is a World Class Analytics group, responsible for providing actionable insights into various aspects of the business to drive value and support improvements within the business. Analytic focus areas include Business Performance, Customer Intelligence, CRM & Optimization as well as Web Analytics.
Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of analysts in delivering strategic and tactical marketing, customer and business analytics projects that will result in actionable insights
• Direct & manage the analytics project lifecycle including:
• Defining project deliverables based on requirements gathering and ideation sessions
• Defining testing requirements and KPIs necessary to conclude on the success of a project
• Coordinating project tasks and deliverables within a cross-functional team environment
• Coordinating data retrieval and data aggregation from multiple sources
• Monitoring the project timeline and providing updates on the project progress and deliverables to senior leadership
• Presenting findings to the business owners and senior leadership in a digestible and actionable format that will drive change and new initiatives across the company
• Rationalize and prioritize projects across their project portfolio by assessing the financial impact and actionable insights of the project
• Provide insights to Marketing and other business partners through analysis of revenue, sales conversion and yield data to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness of our Marketing and business operations
• Socialize analytic capabilities and various analysis results throughout the organization
• Lead the development and implementation of dynamic reporting tools (for example, dashboards, scorecards) to support the strategic goals of Marketing and other business units
• Monitor and refine existing customer KPIs by partnering with Marketing to identify CRM improvement opportunities
• Develop strategies, best practices, process improvements, analytical frameworks, share expertise with others, mentor and continually strive to improve overall contributions to the department
Requirements:
• 5+ years of professional experience in marketing analytics, business analytics or comparable analytics position
• 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional and multi-faceted teams
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Organizational, planning and project management skills and ability to effectively manage cross-functional projects
• Experience in calculating incremental lift from marketing campaigns
• Experience in establishing, implementing and socializing Test & Learn best practices
• Detail-oriented and comfortable with a fast-paced, structured, retail environment
• Strategic, cross-functional thinker able to gather buy-in from leadership for ideas and projects
• Clear understanding of financial, statistical and economic concepts such as ROI analysis
• Prior retail experience strongly preferred
Education/Certification:
• A minimum Master's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics or a related field
• Required Knowledge:
• Hands on experience with SQL, SAS and Predictive Modeling (data mining skills required)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, macros and v-lookups
