The College of New Jersey has launched its search for a Director of Athletics who exhibits a commitment to excellence in academics and athletics. The Director will provide a clear vision of the role of athletics in a highly selective academic environment. The Executive Athletic Director is responsible for leading the long-term, strategic development of a comprehensive program that embraces the NCAA Division III philosophy and supports the developmental and educational mission of TCNJ. The College’s Athletic program includes 20 NCAA Division III intercollegiate teams and is comprised of more than 500 student athletes. The Lion’s athletic teams compete in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) in all sports and have a tradition of excellence both on and off the field and court.
The key roles and responsibilities of the Executive Athletic Director include leading the winning TCNJ Athletics Department consistent with the College’s mission, vision, and values, ensuring alignment with the College’s strategic plan; enhancing the educational experience by providing athletic opportunities to students with varying interest and skills; promoting student-athletes’ personal development, high academic achievement, and full participation in all aspects of college life. The ideal candidate will be a visible leader on campus, and in the community; representing the College and TCNJ Athletics to external constituents, including prospective students, parents, alumni and the general public in a manner that demonstrates personal and professional integrity and promotes the interests of TCNJ Athletics and the College; efficiently and responsibly administering and managing operating budgets for the Department.
