General Description Purpose
The Director of the Husky Athletic Fund/Assistant Athletic Director assists in the development of annual fundraising goals and strategies for the Division of Athletics. The Director of the Husky Athletic Fund/ Assistant Athletic Director will manage all areas of acquiring, upgrading, cultivating, and stewarding donors through seat-priority, ticket sales, letterwinner clubs and various other means to generate revenue, build the donor base, and create a pipeline for future major gifts. Provides collaborative oversight of the UConn Athletic ticket office and serves as the designed liaison to the Aspire ticket sales team to create synergies to increase the donor base. This role will manage a major gift caseload of 15-20 prospects and supervise the Associate Director of the Husky Athletic Fund.
Manage all aspects of seat-priority donations to generate revenue, build the donor base and create a pipeline for future major/planned/principal gifts for UConn Athletics.
Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors with an emphasis on gifts between $1,000 and $25,000 giving levels. Create new member goals and benefits to increase the number of donors as well as the dollars raised.
Provides direction to execute events designed to increase giving and generate revenue working with specific sports on solicitation appeals. This will include special event fundraising activities such as golf tournaments and wine tastings.
Create a comprehensive program to engage, cultivate, solicit and steward young alumni, including current and former student-athletes.
Develop comprehensive program to engage, cultivate, solicit and steward student-athlete parents, staff, letterwinners and women in philanthropy.
Develop new and creative opportunities to support the endowed scholarship program. Work closely with the Associate Director of Athletics Operations to ensure the proper execution of administrative tasks for the Husky Athletic Fund.
Coordinate marketing collateral for leadership appeal solicitations, including brochures, flyers and digital assets focused on acquiring donors who support the Husky Athletic Fund.
Collaborate with Foundation colleagues to generate new opportunities for athletic donor acquisition.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Seven or more years’ experience in athletic fundraising, ticket sales or higher education development.
• Three or more years of supervisory/management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to personally generate revenue through a fundraising/ticket sales cycle.
• Experience soliciting major gifts of $50K+ is desirable.
• Knowledge and understanding of priority point systems and concepts and their application as it relates to seating for donors and ticket holders at athletics events.
• Knowledge and understanding of a Division I athletics and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Proven proficiency in use of computers and information management tools.
• Ability to work to the demands of the position which may exceed a 40 hour work week.
• Must be willing to travel extensively and reliable personal transportation is required for this position.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license issued from state in which employee resides. Employee must maintain at their expense, automobile liability insurance coverage in the minimum amount of $500,000 or a combination of umbrella and automobile liability insurance coverage of $500,000. A certificate of automobile insurance evidencing the limit, must be provided to the Foundation at hire and annually thereafter.
