The Director of NOAM Special Events Strategy - Makeup Artistry & Marketing Initiatives is responsible for:
• Develops, plans, executes, and implements concepts and strategies for North America Special Events in order to increase sales on a national level.
• Content development of programs to support marketing initiatives via special events / activities, ex: bulletins / one pagers, rallies, MUA bios, & field communications aligned with NOAM Event strategies
• Manages and develops Makeup Artistry team and Spa Specialist Team to liaise with Field Executive team and NYO to focus on National Department, Specialty & Specialty-Multi Channel Strategies.
• Working with NOAM Product & Trade Marketing, Promotions, Education, PR, Online and New Media, and Global Special Events, Director develops ideas, tools and execution strategies in multi category events for key retailers.
• Oversees Operational processes required to execute events in NOAM
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Development and Training of Programs:
• Planning, implementing, recapping results and executing strategies for Product Launch/Makeup Artistry/Experience & Spa Events
• Develop content, guidelines and best practices for all Special Event categories to include: Launch Events, Artistry Events, Service Events and Exclusive Events and partnership events (including media, influencer and PR opportunities) via bulletins, rallies, menus, flyers, Programming & POS guidelines
• Provide all feedback for new events by liaising with Retail Partners, North America Field Directors & Executives, and Global Special Events
• Collaborate with Global Special Events, Creative/Visual Merchandising teams to develop event fixtures to execute all Launch, Artistry, Experience & Spa events
• Present and Prepare programs to Retailers, Markets, Sales, NYO and NOAM Field Executives
Development of Strategic Solutions:
• Lead national efforts for event activity in Macy’s, Dillard’s, Belk, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, Bon Ton, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Ulta in collaboration with Account Management to ensure profitability
• Develop and lead separate Ulta event strategy and support 360 event execution.
• Partner with the Trade Marketing/Account Management to provide strategies for all event programs and account needs.
• Coordinate PR supported influencer events/initiatives and Personal Appearances with Field Executives for successful execution.
• Partner with Online Marketing and New Media to ensure current event concept and dates, as well as updated artist event dates and profiles.
• Visit North America field regularly to ensure proper in store execution and accurate visual presentation of programs, and to glean market needs (regional relevance).
• Liaise with Global Special Events, NOAM Marketing and AERIN team on AERIN event strategy.
Management of Team:
• Manage, coach and develop the Manager of Events. Responsible for performance coaching throughout the year and annual PDP.
• Manage freelance artistry support. Provide guidelines and direction on scheduling and event execution. Oversee scheduling and partner with Field on requests and timelines.
• Oversee Spa Specialist Team – development and execution of events, including schedule.
• Establish and communicate guidelines for proper expense and invoice reporting for National, Featured and Premier Makeup Artists.
• Responsible for performance coaching and annual PDP.
Operations:
• Maintain all financial schedules ensuring accuracy and timeliness of the execution and production of Special Events print material, tools and budget
• Collaborate with ED to Manage 2 budgets for National Special Events: 1) National Makeup Artistry team budget and 2) Special Event Marketing and Collateral Budget.
• Manage and approve invoices for all Special Event programs.
• Manage operations and effectiveness for National market, including all allocation direction for NOAM Special Event programs
• Drive North America work requests and CPMS tracking for all Special Event programs
• Reconcile department and collateral budgets monthly.
• Oversee, manage and provide 360 support of National Engraving Program.
• Assess and maintain the Special Events Collateral Grid.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate College degree preferred
• Minimum 8+ years cosmetics/beauty field experience
