Company Industrial Devices Sales Company of America, a division of Company Corporation of North America, has a long, distinguished history of serving the North American manufacturing sector. Our OEM industrial electronic components, subsystems and factory automation are geared to a diverse range of industries. Currently, PIDSA has an immediate opening for a Director, New Business Development - Mobility & Technology
What You’ll Get to Do:
• Create and lead PIDSA’s new business development activity focused on the disruptive Mobility/Transportation makers/designers in North America (primarily west coast oriented)
• Expand Company’s position at leading Technology companies with either Company or non-Company solutions/products
• Build the team and direct the staff and its activities related to conceptualizing and implementing sales strategy and the achievement of sales targets in the mobility technology market:
◦ Focus 1 - Tesla: Product portfolio includes all of components & device under Company except battery
◦ Focus 2 – New, disruptive EV/Mobility companies: Product portfolio includes all of components & device under Company
• Achievement of Results –
◦ Development of a full Business Plan (Targets, Resources, Processes, Keys to Success and expected results). This includes full P&L responsibility.
◦ Manage budgets and goals to meet predetermined business plan requirements
◦ Develop business and cost models to drive ROI
◦ Recommend and implement policies, procedures and actions that enhance PIDSA and overall PNA and PC sales and profit objectives
• Customer / Market Focus –
◦ Build and strengthen relationship with customer’s executives
◦ Development and Execution of the Sales and Marketing Strategy
◦ Anticipate and respond quickly to customer/market needs – drive direct and indirect teams to meet customer’s expectations and enhance the customers experience
◦ Drive multiple, matrix managed groups to meet customer needs and expand business opportunities and revenue
◦ Determine customer satisfaction and use this information to form the basis of continuous process improvement
◦ Determine the planning requirements, expectations and preferences of Senior PNA management. Build relationships within PIDSA, PNA, the Region, Product BD’s and their representatives, PC and sources outside Company to acquire knowledge and enhance understanding
• Human Resource / Organization Improvement
◦ Staff the organization with competent talent and align them according to strategic organizational objectives.
◦ Develop the professional and leadership competencies of staff and ensure effective succession planning for all key positions.
◦ Specifically, develop competencies to support new business development.
◦ Demonstrate sensitivity to the importance of diversity in making staffing, customer and supplier decisions
• Process/Metric Management
◦ Establish and manage all business processes such as technology acquisition, information and knowledge management, supply chain management, project management, etc.
◦ Establish and manage all metrics for ICD including, but not limited to, sales, profit, Inventory and Cash performance
◦ Develop key performance measures/ indicators and effectively use for control and improvement #LI-NR1
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring:
Education & Experience:
• 15+ years’ experience in managing and creating business with sales and service elements
• Specific experience in the automotive industry with a history of penetrating startup companies, creating partnerships (OEM & 3rd Party) and closing deals
• Deep knowledge of leading a sales team as well as managing product life cycles
• BS degree with an MBA highly preferred
Competencies:
• Expertise in Negotiation, Business Strategy, and ROI attainment
• Knowledge of core business involving Electronic components
• Proven track record of business goal achievement
• Automotive and Electronic Industry knowledge
Communications:
• High persuasion and communication in all areas
• Level of collaboration in matrix and non-vertical organization is critical
• Ability to partner/collaborate/negotiate with all levels internal and external, including alliances with outside entities to achieve this organization’s business objectives.
• Formal written communication capability, as well as oral skill is required to accomplish division and company objectives
Other Requirements:
• Ability to travel as required. 50% (including international)
