Summary:
The Director, National Accounts will develop & pursue opportunities via advertising, corporate events, marketing, merchandising, inventory & sales analysis to ultimately increase brand awareness & build
Areas of Responsibility:
• Overall Strategy Development and deployment
• Drive consumer and brand growth strategically and operationally. Create Account specific strategy for brand across responsibility to include all retailer brick and mortar and Company website. Ensure alignment with corporate, NA and Brand strategies. Top notch strategy execution and integrated approach across all key functional areas for goal attainment.
• Lead market development with focus on synthesizing and articulating needs of Account in product development, education, creative, marketing and merchandising.
• Develop all retail sales objectives, plans, and programs
• Develop and strengthen retailer relationships.
• Lead activities associated with new doors and launches.
• Determine future opportunities
Advertising:
• Work with Buyer to pursue all advertising opportunities.
• Create “presentation kits” for buyer to include potential advertised items.
Events & Marketing:
• Work with buyer, DMM, Visual Manager & Smashbox field to plan & execute seasonal major events in A Level Markets.
• Work with buyer and visual manager to review seasonal in-store visual opportunities and ensure maximum exposure.
• Work with buyer on potential corporate & in-store marketing opportunities (ex: contests, raffles etc…)
Merchandising:
• Responsible for initiating all gondola updates.
• Work with marketing to ensure all updates are executed in a timely manner and correspond with all advertised items.
• Four seasonal focus units per year
• Two major gondola updates per year to include 2-3 shelf changes
• Responsible for reviewing product assortment & sales to determine what gondola product changes will most positively impact sales.
Sales Analysis:
• Create all sales plans, by store, by month.
• Create seasonal corporate sales support.
• Analyze sales, product and mix trend to determine action
• General business analysis daily
• Work with lead Planner to ensure strategy execution
DotCom:
• Develop dotcom business by implementing online sampling programs and concepts to update our site.
• Pursue opportunities to ensure maximum home page exposure and email blasts.
Communication:
• Initiate weekly conference calls with buyer and monthly conference calls to review all business opportunities and issues.
• Initiate monthly conference calls with field to review all updates (i.e. Gondola, Visual, Inventory) and business opportunities, training updates & any open issues.
• Create and send monthly recaps to field to include all pertinent info
• Work with field and trainers to insure ALL doors are receiving Seasonal trainings and monthly artistry visits.
• Full P&L Management
• Develop and manage Account P&L
• Manage Opex, Retail / Net budgets
• Submit accurate monthly estimates on Retail and expenses
• Deliver to NOP commitments by managing expense vs. sales
Qualifications:
• 8+ years relevant work experience.
• Proven, successful sales track record in cosmetic industry.
• Self-motivated and flexible; able to adapt quickly to change.
• Able to build collaborative relationships and work cross functionally with sales, marketing, retail partners, demand planning and supply chain.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Must be proficient at Excel and Power Point
• Strong presentation skills
• Able to work from Culver City office and travel domestically when needed
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
