Overview and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for box office reporting related to current and forward-looking performance of theatrical film releases.
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
• Assesses performance of Paramount’s theatrical releases and competitive tentpoles. Ability to quickly draw valuable conclusions as to the likely impact on performance of a title.
• Assists in developing and communicating release date strategies for Paramount titles; identifies any potential alternatives by conducting an in-depth review of release windows, competitive titles, and holidays that could impact a title’s success.
• Creates and sends weekend grosses updates to senior management, film makers and press on Sunday mornings complete with commentary and forecast estimates.
• Reads, analyzes, and assesses scripts for international potential / performance as part of the greenlight process; identifies competitive titles for box office comparisons.
• Collates market analysis, statistics and trends in box office, admissions, ticket prices trends, and formats for presentations to senior management.
• Executes extensive and detailed ad-hoc analysis and research assigned by SVP of Int’l Distribution including box office reporting, emerging markets performance, regional movie going habits, and the evolution of the film industry.
• Researches historical box office data to project grosses for films in development for use in Greenlight Meetings.
• Main contact with Int’l Market Research, Int’l Media, Distribution Services, and other departments across the studio to provide box office estimates and results, release dates and competitive data leading to a releases.
• Supervises updates and changes to all systems used by the international distribution team. Work closely with developers and Information Technology on reporting updates and designs, adding infrastructure, and developing new data capturing interfaces and feeds.
• Leads, manages and develops direct reports and interns and creates an inspiring environment to foster productivity, development, team collaboration and creativity.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the film business
• Must have a robust command of International Theatrical Distribution.
• Must be extremely efficient in Excel, PowerPoint.
• Demonstrates ability to write clear and concise reports and memoranda.
• Project Management experience.
