Context:
The $10+ trillion dollar global Construction and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) industry is being disrupted as globalization, new business models and technology, and increasing client expectations impact the industry. Mobile and cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies are changing the game for contractors, owners, facility/maintenance managers, financiers, and technology providers alike. Construction firms will be required to operate differently as new competitors and industry workflows emerge. Building Owners will have the opportunity to benefit from the value of Building Information Modeling (BIM) across the entire building lifecycle, from planning and design, through construction and handover, to Operations and Maintenance.

Description:
Reporting to the Head of the Construction Business, you will lead a team of industry strategists and analysts to develop and monitor the global business and go to market strategy for Company's Construction and Operations & Maintenance business and continue the rapid growth of the large BIM 360 business line.
You will serve as a core member of the Construction leadership team and partner with Product Development, Marketing, Sales, and Corp Development teams to focus their efforts on supporting the Construction and O&M business strategy and objectives. You will be responsible for building the build, buy, partner strategy.
In addition, you will serve as an evangelist for the Construction and O&M business outside of Company and inspire customers with a compelling vision and story about the current and future state of the business and industry.
This is a challenging leadership role that requires exceptional communication, influencing and analytic skills, relationship development and a motivational style.
Collaboration and partnering within Company is crucial for success in this position. The right candidate will be passionate about business strategy and management, emerging technologies and trends impacting the Construction industry, and also, delighting customers with amazing Company solutions that will help them become more successful and competitive in their businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Business & strategy planning:
Define the 3-year strategy for Construction and O&M and develop the 12-18 month plan to execute on the strategy, including: prioritizing target segments and geographic regions for business growth; identifying business/technology opportunities and related dependencies, gaps and risks; analyzing competitive activity and dynamics; developing strategic partnerships and driving M&A activity with corporate development in support of the strategy; and gathering industry requirements to influence the product roadmap and ensure that Company is meeting the evolving needs of its customers.
Go To Market (GTM) execution:
Collaborate with Company Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations teams on GTM execution, including: establishing sales plays and positioning solutions for all markets, buyers, and target personas; driving pricing analysis and packaging recommendations for portfolio; introducing new business models and/or alternative sales channels and partnerships to support GTM activity; developing plans for migration of customers from legacy solutions to current offerings, including retirement of legacy solutions.
Business performance and reporting:
Deliver assessment and analysis of the business each quarter to executive management, in collaboration with the finance, product, and sales organizations. Specifically, monitor business performance for the portfolio, document and report on product billings, adoption, customer acquisition and retention and develop corrective action plans as needed. Maintain close customer relationships to understand the customer perspective in terms of solution price, packaging, positioning and business models.
Evangelization/Voice of Company:
Create and communicate an inspirational, credible, and differentiated story for Construction and O&M to be shared with customers, industry analysts, partners, and the internal Company community. Partner with the Thought Leadership team to connect the story to the longer-term, multi-year view of the industry and opportunity. Present story at industry events, customer briefings, and via press and media outlets.
Internal Collaboration:
Build strong relationships with Company Product Development and Sales/Channel teams. Serve as key point of contact for product and sales teams, throughout strategy development and go to market planning and execution.
Requirements/Skills:
• Masters in Construction Management/Engineering with business experience required or MBA with understanding and experience of the construction industry
• Knowledge of Construction and O&M market and solutions required
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling and Company solutions a plus
• Passion for technology and knowledge of cloud and SaaS solutions and technology trends, including a strong interest in the IoT, machine learning, and additive manufacturing
• Global business experience, including understanding nuances within diverse cultures
• Coalition builder with diplomatic skills and poise to work across a global and matrixed organization, who can defend positions from a data perspective and mediate opposing views across cross-functional teams
• Strategic and inspiring communicator with strong written and presentation skills, speaks easily to large and small audiences of varying technical backgrounds, including Company executive leadership
• Strong financial analysis and business reporting skills
• Strong primary and secondary, market and customer research skills
• Proven ability to operate and execute in an environment of frequent change
• Travel: 40%
