Director, Global Marketing, Bumble and bumble
Bumble and bumble is a fast-growing, luxury hair care brand located in NYC. It started as a NYC salon over 20 years ago, and evolved into a multi-million dollar brand comprised of 2 salons, a product company that houses a strong in-house creative agency, a direct sales force, and a world-class university for hairdressers and salon owners. To this day we are committed to cultivating creativity and trend-setting innovation, while remaining deeply and passionately dedicated to the craft, culture and commerce of hairdressing.
Position Summary:
Develops and implements all marketing strategies and initiatives (product and commercial) for the Bumble and bumble Styling Segment, in close collaboration with cross functional teams, to further develop Brand's performance (sales, profitability, image and competitive position). Includes one direct report, budget management and P&L responsibility for products and projects under responsibility.
Responsibilities:
• Leads the conception, development and implementation of innovative and trendsetting marketing strategies, product concepts, and promotional programs for the Bumble and bumble Styling Business in order to drive business globally and reinforce brand equity.
• Coordinates across departments to build inspirational content across social, digital, print, and all mediums etc. Works closely with Applied Marketing and Digital Marketing to develop highly engaging activation plans.
• In partnership with cross functional teams, ensures timely launches of marketing initiatives within budget and COGS targets.
• Compiles and analyzes market intelligence/competitive information and makes recommendations to seize market opportunities for 3-5 year innovation calendar planning.
• Leads total brand analyses and initiatives, such as sku rationalization / discontinuation strategy, portfolio analyses, domestic and international pricing strategy and related competitive analyses.
• Collects and analyzes sell-through trends, category shifts, COG changes, etc. and recommends shifts in programs as needed.
• Works to coach, develop and mentor Assistant Manager on the team, reporting directly in to Director role.
• Works closely with the rest of the Marketing team and always maintains a team-building attitude.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• The job requires an individual with an understanding and passion for fashion and beauty, with a strong sense of personal style, while maintaining a rigorous business and financial discipline.
• Strong strategic and analytical skills. Creative ability to think outside of the box for new, better different approaches in both product and commercial activations.
• Strong people management skills to coach, mentor and develop Assistant Manager on the team.
Education and Experience:
• Position requires 8+ years of Marketing in the Beauty industry gained in one of the industry leading companies. Relevant product marketing experience required.
• Hair care (professional or mass) experience preferred.
• Global Marketing / Development Marketing experience a plus. Selective/prestige markets experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
