Director, Global Communications, Bobbi Brown
POSITION SUMMARY:
To oversee public relations activities within Global Communications and support the North American Communications team. This includes promotion of the brand and its products to the consumer via the media in line with the objectives, images and goals of the brand.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Support the North America GC team in strategizing, coordinating and executing domestic publicity campaigns for new product launches and trends including: media relations, product placements, planning and implementing targeted pitches, regional press, short-lead/online press, events, and partnerships.
•Develop communications plans to support top 5 brand DMAs that include media activity, influencer partnerships, and press/consumer events.
•Act as liaison with the appropriate marketing and product development teams to facilitate exchange of information for 360 degree launch planning.
•Maintain strong relationships with the media including national print, online and broadcast outlets.
•Work closely with the Bobbi Brown Beauty Team to elevate their profiles and create additional brand awareness leveraging them as spokespeople in key regional markets.
•Work with brand GC team on strategy, content development and execution, with a focus on media websites, bloggers and all forms of new and future digital media
•Forge through new ideas, new programs and new ways of communicating with the online press community to ultimately engage more consumers to become brand advocates, while adhering to corporate guidelines and legal requirements.
•Assist the Head of NA GC in managing Talent Relations/Editorial Makeup Artist Program and identify industry influencers who can become brand ambassadors.
•Work with North American and International Communications team members to develop alternative methods of visibility (outside product launches) to maximize opportunities for the brand.
•Working closely with the Head of the dept., responsible for developing the Global Communications junior staff.
Qualifications
•BA or 4-year college degree required
•8-10 years experience; 8 or more years of experience in general communications with at least 2 of those in online communications
•Strong writing, presentation and communications skills as well as established excellent media relations and highly developed blogger and online editor contacts
•Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple projects
•Editorial successes via traditional media outlets and online with measurable results
•Active engagement in online and social media
•Branding/beauty/fashion/entertainment experience desirable
•Experience managing a team and outside agency
•Self-motivated; able to own projects and execute in a timely manner
•An entrepreneurial spirit and energy to help bring communications and consumer engagement to a new level
