Responsibilities
The Director of Finance is primarily responsible for managing the financial and accounting support for Telemundo Networks. This includes planning and closing related efforts, variance analysis, and financial modeling. This position works closely with the Programming Department, Business Affairs and Promotions department to provide actionable analysis. The Director of Finance reports to the VP of Finance.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
Manage and prepare Operating budget and quarterly estimates with full year financial outlooks along with financial decks and departmental consolidation
Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy
Responsible for communicating monthly and quarterly pacing, forecast, and amortization costs for the NBC Universo Programming, Marketing, and Ratings & Research departments
Maintain the program rights schedule, tracking all new programming acquisitions, production asset transfers, program amortization, and program write-offs
Review and approve monthly payables based on new programming acquisition contract terms
Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts and account reconciliation on a quarterly basis. Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
Responsible for the preparation cost allocation of T&L and PCard charges and reconciliation
Supervise and manage annual production budgets and third party contracts for NBC Universo
Responsible for the preparation of new programming to ensure they are in line with current budget and there is sufficient on-air capacity
Prepare and maintain monthly marketing and promotion campaign expenditures along
Work with agency on tracking campaign performance
Full knowledgeable of FAS 63 and SOP 002
Prepare programming proposal for greenlight committee
Prepare bi weekly Executive dashboard reports and KPI
Quarterly DR reports for Corporate submission to Controllership
Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
A 4 years of experience analyzing data, developing forecasts
Excellent time management skills, with a deadline orientation; ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative in challenging situations
Ability to quickly reassess priorities and adapt as required
Ability to work regular hours in addition to non-traditional hours
SAP and Compass Knowledge strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal & leadership skills
Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization
Strong oral and written communication skills
Exhibits proficiency with MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Must be fully fluent in Spanish
