Cotiviti (the “Company”) is embarking on the development of a comprehensive and robust compliance and risk management program that is founded on best practices, including policy, governance, education and compliance.
The Director, Enterprise Risk Management is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and maintenance of an enterprise risk management program. The Director will also ensure that all risks are recognized and managed in a manner that their financial impact is minimized, allowing the Company to efficiently and cost-effectively minimizes the impact of losses. The successful candidate for this position will have a background that includes extensive experience with establishing and improving enterprise risk management programs, preferably with experience in the healthcare industry. International experience would be a plus.
Because of his/her role and the importance of this position, the Director’s written and oral communication skills must be excellent. The Director functions as an independent and objective resource within the organization, and will provide periodic reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and implement the development and enhancement of enterprise-wide risk management program, including instituting applicable policies and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure that risk policies are in existence for all risk categories selected by the Compliance and Risk Management Committee.
• Ensure the organization's enterprise-wide risk management policies are in compliance with applicable regulations and the Company’s strategic imperatives.
• Ensure that policies are updated and reviewed by the relevant policy holders, as required by the provisions of each policy (e.g. annual review and re-approval, with adequate change control).
• Map policies to the authoritative sources of rules and regulations, and track changes in the authoritative sources to ensure that Policy Owners update policies accordingly.
• Ensures risk management is incorporated into leadership standards and corporate values. Monitoring best practices around policy and governance practices to influence continuous improvement for the Company.
Requirements
Skills, Experience, and Other Requirements:
• 10 years’ risk management experience developing and implementing enterprise risk management programs, including writing policies, procedures, producing executive materials and driving operations for risk committees/meetings, and instituting industry best practice risk management principles and practices Excellent oral and written communication skills required in order to foster productive relationships with diverse staff and constituencies.
• Strong writing skills needed to produce clear and concise materials.
• High-level critical thinking skills, including strategic thinking, effective analysis of data, and the ability to aggregate information.
• Detail-oriented, with hands-on, roll-up sleeves approach.
• Proven ability to work independently and assess and articulate priorities with clear outcomes in mind. Strong project management discipline and demonstrated success overseeing multiple projects to completion.
• Strong ability to influence. Works effectively with various levels within an organization, including senior- level leadership, professionals and staff and quickly build relationships.
