Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking an entrepreneurial and driven sales person to increase sales of event sponsorships and strategic corporate partnerships for Haymarket Media US conferences and festivals.
Job Overview:
The Director of Corporate Sponsorships – Events will be responsible for the planning and strategy related to sponsorship programs, including identifying, and developing leads and prospects, negotiating contracts and packages, closing deals, and providing account management.
This role will secure revenue generating opportunities with prospects within the digital space for digital focused events and programs, will foster revenue opportunities with existing sponsors, and be charged with developing a strategy to increase sponsorship for current portfolio and new event launches.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage sponsorship plans focused on growing sponsorships within the event space for digital focused events
• Oversee identification and cultivation of prospects
• Help develop packages for sponsorships and execute revenue generating opportunities to drive incremental revenue for the organization
• Work with prospects to gain a clear understanding of their needs and develop customized sponsorship and proposal packages to win their business
• Maintain accurate and updated records of all contacts and revenue projection pipeline of opportunities, highlighting all the prospecting, research, networking, outbound calls, and attendance at other events or programs
• Work collaboratively with events team, marketing staff, and colleagues to create customized content or presentations as sales collateral for use in sponsorship presentations
• All other duties as assigned
Skills and Requirements:
• A strategist with outside of the box creativity
• Proactively take actions necessary to produce results
• Communicates clearly and articulate concepts and ideas
• Can identify emerging trends to create opportunities
• Set priorities wisely, multitask, and can solve complex problems
• Ability to develop strategic, proactive relationships with potential sponsors and corporate partners, and other supporters
• Dynamic communication and writing skills
• Strong strategic, analytical, and project management skills
• Superb networking, teamwork, negotiation, and interpersonal/diplomatic skills
• Bachelor’s degree or advanced preferred
• At least 6-8 years of experience in sponsorship sales within events, conferences, or tradeshows. Digital client management experience preferred
• Must have experience in building a sponsorship or similar sales program and success in meeting or exceeding financial goals
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, proposal development and in the identification, solicitation, and closing of sponsorships and business deals
• Track record of developing corporate partnerships is strongly preferred
Travel Requirement:
• This position requires travel 25% of the time
