In this key leadership role, Cloud Operations Director will help build, deploy and maintain a highly available, elastic, enterprise PaaS and SaaS solution for Company. You will own the 24x7 global support, operational maturity model, operations provisioning process and monitoring to ensure availability, reliability, recoverability and optimum performance. You will have ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, professional services, and DevOps teams to prioritize initiatives, balancing internal priorities with customer expectations. This is a hands-on senior level position managing a team of Cloud system engineers supporting Company’ SaaS customers.
Responsibilities:
• As a Director of Cloud Operations, you’ll own operations and administration of our production cloud platform (e.g., Azure) to ensure reliability, recoverability and optimum performance.
• Deliver service availability at or greater than 99.9% uptime in the cloud at specified concurrency and performance levels.
• Work with internal and external partners and vendors to maintain 24x7 global operations support.
• Develop and manage multiple, large-scale global enterprise relationships, working with technical and business leaders.
• Deploy and utilize automation tools to minimize human operational requirements, provide flexibility and elasticity across cloud infrastructure providers, and facilitate easy movement to and from the cloud for clients.
• Create, manage and report against KPIs for the platform’s operation, overseeing all platform change management and deployment activities.
• Implement and maintain full operational compliance against various security and compliance requirements
• Consistently improve performance and reliability as the platform scales, driving continuous improvement through operational metrics.
Qualifications:
• Technical aptitude and a passion for staying current with new and upcoming technologies to ensure the best possible solutions.
• 10+ years managing enterprise cloud operations and environments.
• 5+ years managing large scale public cloud application deployments.
• Proven experience leading a globally dispersed team.
• Strong prior experience managing projects, activities, vendors and infrastructure activities in a virtual SaaS environment.
• Excellent technical knowledge and long term practical experience in the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of virtual SaaS systems.
• Expert in at least one; MS Azure (preferred), AWS or Google Cloud
• Proficient experience managing outages, customer escalations, crisis management and other similar circumstances.
• 3-5 years involving security, risk management, compliance, and audits such as SOC1/2 (SSAE16/18), PCI-DSS, ISO27000 series, and EU Data Privacy controls.
• Working knowledge of infrastructure security concepts including firewalls, DMZs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, network security, application security concepts, password management, RBAC, access provisioning, and OWASP.
• Experience with common vulnerability scanning and penetration testing tools.
• Knowledge of common computer security issues, including network and application vulnerabilities.
• MCPS, CISA, CISM, CISSP or CIPP certifications a plus.
• Experience with the phases of the software development lifecycle.
