POSITION SUMMARY:
Company’s Business Finance Officer (BFO) team is looking for a Director in our Charlotte. The BFO provides Executive Management Team (EMT) and Business Areas with decision support through the use of management reporting, future-focused analytics, predictive modeling capabilities, decision tools and problem-solving support to help drive our businesses financial planning, budgeting and forecasting requirements; and supports the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (CFP&A) team to achieve accurate allocation of expenses and revenue alignment to corporate entities and product lines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Budgeting, planning, forecasting, analysis, as well as financial stewardship and counsel.
• Providing financial leadership to the Fixed and Variable Annuity product managers, guidance and analysis in a clear and simple way.
• Being able to tell the business story and develop and deliver influential communications to drive business results.
• Deep engagement with all business segments to proactively develop and deliver consistent timely and simplified financial analytics, education and counsel to guide decision making.
• Presenting and clearly articulating the financial results of the business, as well as, the various initiatives and strategies to leadership.
• Deep understanding of the business and products supported to drive detailed dialogue on product performance and strategy.
• Analyze and interpret financial results and business area project allocations through business case report-outs and benefits tracking.
• Develop models / tools for early identification of financial trends and drivers for use across business segments.
• Make recommendations for issue resolution; maintain and improve current financial models.
• Collaborate with business areas to develop operational and financial health metrics and measures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related
Must have 5 + years working with retirement products.
Proven track record of partnering with senior business leaders and supporting business strategy.
Must be able to work independently, as well as, in a collaborative team environment.
Extensive experience in the use of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Desired Skills:
5+ years working with Fixed and Variable Annuities
Proven experience in modeling various business scenarios
Strong experience in PeopleSoft general ledger and Hyperion Planning /
Essbase / Smartview.
Deep understanding of financial statements with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial information.
Critical thinker and self-starter who is willing to work proactively to identify key business priorities and work across teams to implement the necessary solutions.
