DESCRIPTION:
Summary:
Company is seeking a Director of Business Development to support the effort to source, evaluate and launch new organic business development opportunities in both traditional and new media. The Director will work actively with all Company operating divisions and will gain extensive exposure to the company’s operations. The Director will examine issues and business ideas from a strategic, competitive and financial perspective. The Director is part of a lean, highly visible team that complements and collaborates with Company divisions and other corporate functions. A successful candidate will see themselves as a solution provider to a dynamic "client base", and will ultimately be given significant opportunities for growth and should expect to take on additional responsibilities with demonstrated performance.
Responsibilities:
• Work in conjunction with the EVP, Business Development to develop and implement internal process for sourcing and evaluating new business ideas
• Serve as a consultative resource to divisional management in assessing new growth opportunities
• Design, execute, and interpret analysis to inform decision-making as to the viability and potential of new commercial opportunities
• Work as a part of a cross-functional team to bring approved growth initiatives to fruition, resulting in the launch of new businesses
• Analyze emerging sectors of the media industry and identify opportunities for Company to participate
• Assist in the operational due diligence process for potential acquisitions, as well as manage integration processes for acquired businesses
Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree required; MBA desired
• 6+ years of consulting, strategic planning, research, investment banking or financial analysis, or similar experience at a media company
• Solid understanding of media & entertainment industry economics and performance drivers
• Knowledgeable in traditional media and emerging, technology-driven goods and services
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities; high proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
• Effective communication skills to present information in compelling manner and appropriate format
• Excellent presentation skills; beyond presumed PowerPoint proficiency, a talent for thoughtfully conceived and well-designed graphical representations of data, trends and ideas
• Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
• Previous success working independently and cross-functionally with a strong service orientation toward internal clients and partners
• An ability to interact with all levels of management
