Description
Operations lead within the Annuity Calculation Management team is responsible for ongoing operational support and all technical aspects of the current annuity product portfolio. This includes ensuring actuarial & product integrity of inforce block of business through all lifecycles of the 300+ products in force, with a focus on illustration support and administration system test results. It is expected that this person will be recognized within the organization as a product and calculation expert.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Manage a team of 4 – 5 actuarial professionals.
•Manage the team in updating illustration and administrative test tools to be used by Technology to test system changes and periodic updates.
•Sign off on test strategy for ongoing illustration and administrative system updates, and provide oversight as team provides actuarial sign-off on test results.
•Develop and execute plans for process improvement to automate illustration & administration testing processes, including regression testing alternatives.
•Partner with Service in their utilization of tools (EUC’s) that exist in lieu of administrative system functionality.
•Develop and execute strategies to replace manual administrative calculation tools with automated processes and/or expanded administrative system functionality.
•Support annual and ad-hoc prospectus updates, including ensuring the accuracy of fund fee tables, expense examples, and convergence charts.
•Provide technical and analytical support to other groups within the organization including managing all Actuarial Support mailbox requests, and providing analysis and tool support for self audits projects, system defect fixes, and corrective actions.
•Provide on-going actuarial knowledge and problem resolution within Product and to business partners across the organization.
•Serve as a subject matter expert on the algorithm, and ensure accuracy of system calculations, algorithm prediction tool, & prediction communication method & processes.
•Own and manage the team’s EUC inventory of all tools. Partner with other team leads within the Calculation Management team to ensure that established controls are being used.
•Support internal audits, RCSA’s, and other activities to reinforce the usage of sound processes and a control consciousness.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s Degree
•ASA required
•Experience managing people is required
•5+ years of experience in financial services product support or product management, including Annuities Illustrations experience
•Continuous Improvement, AGILE, or process optimization experience
•Demonstrated proven ability to lead, develop, and grow talent
•Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
•Approach work with intellectual curiosity and transparency with an openness to giving and receiving feedback
•Self‐motivated, proactive and visionary leadership, thinking beyond functional responsibilities to broader business strategy
