Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Director, you will build a world-class team of Engineers to define, drive and execute on this vision. You
will be closely working with Business partners to understand and elaborate requirements. You will initiate processes that allow the team to collaborate with local as well as global teams with a high degree of efficiency. You will lead a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with Project Managers, Product Owners and SMEs across the company on high impact Company Business Solution product development initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex
products with significant bottom line impact
• Work with and manage remote teams
• Work with product owners in developing a strategy and road map to provide compelling capabilities that helps them succeed in their business goals
• Work closely with architects and senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development
• Instill best practices for software development and documentation process, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
• Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards and processes
• Mentor junior team members, develop departmental procedures and best practices standards
• Collaborate, negotiate, manage tradeoffs and evaluate new ideas with business partners
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MS or other related advanced degree preferred
• Requires 10+ years of experience with at least 3 years managing and leading engineering teams
• Extensive technical experience with developing application on full stack of HTTP, JSON, Rest, Big Data, Databases, Java frameworks
• Strong Software Engineering background with a good understanding in multi-tier enterprise architecture
• Proven experience delivering large scale, highly available production software
• A deep understanding of end to end software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
• Strong business and technical vision
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a strong automation mindset
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support organizational plans.
• Ability to work in a complex organization to determine business and customer needs, providing the best solution to meet those needs
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise way.
• Payment processing background is a big plus
