OVERVIEW:
As the Marketing Director, this position will be part of BBC America’s marketing, social, digital and creative services team designed to create and implement consumer promotional strategies for BBC America show launches and brand campaigns.
The ideal candidate will develop and execute key marketing campaigns for all BBCA programming franchises and originals, with a focus on brand strategy and communications planning. This position will direct all aspects of consumer-facing media campaigns and oversee asset production and trafficking of TV off-channel and cross-channel promotion, OOH, print and radio; and leverage cross-platform digital and social media marketing initiatives as well as overseeing all viewer/fan events and promotions.
The Marketing Director will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing and will work closely with key members of creative services on media-driven promotions, and the social media team on fan engagement initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as brand manager and strategist for internal and priority programs, develop key brand and market research and communicate across internal and external teams to ensure consistency, positioning and efficacy
• Manage key elements of consumer promotions for the channel and priority programs, including TV off-net, cross-channel, OOH, print, digital and social media platforms, off-air and online
• Manage internal teams in the production and delivery of all campaign assets, positioning, messaging, series and channel branding
• Manage creative, strategic planning and budgeting of campaigns with media agencies to ensure quality execution
• Oversee and manage marketing budget and work closely with Finance team on accruals, actuals and budget forecasting
• Manage weekly YouTube calendar and liaise with on-air, social, digital on all assets
• Oversee and execute all channel branded premiums
• Develop internal and external briefs, presentations, financial reports and related marketing materials
• Coordinate and liaise with core global brand teams based in the UK
• Manage creative, strategic planning and budgeting of advertising campaigns with media agencies to ensure quality execution
• Develop key campaign metrics, monitor and optimize campaigns accordingly
• Analyze and implement learning from past campaigns, analyze competitor on-air, off-air and digital activity
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 8+ years of experience in entertainment marketing, cable or broadcast television experience preferred
• BS/BA or higher education, strong academic record; concentration in marketing, communications or arts, business a plus
• Broad-based marketing background across: media planning, promotion, digital/social and experiential
• Must have experience and knowledge of digital, social media and original content marketing techniques
• Experienced in television, shows, networks, advertising and programming promotions
• Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and business and presentation skills
• Experience in developing, tracking and analyzing quantitative and qualitative information
