Position Purpose and Scope
The Designer is responsible for concept, design and layout of pages throughout the various Company web and mobile sites. This includes graphic production (when necessary), asset management, project support.
Key Responsibilities
Impart a Company look and feel for various sections of the e-commerce sites. Understand the Company look and feel and be able to translate this to the web.
Ensure a high level of quality and consistency from the details to the "big picture" on each project.
Work with peers from various departments, such as merchandising and copy, to assess their needs and/or concerns.
Proactively seek out to ensure that their needs and expectations are met.
Present work during weekly meetings
Show ability to follow concept direction and build on these by putting forth own ideas and solutions. Show ability to handle various projects at the same time and complete these by a given deadline. Produce, edit, alter, and deliver designs on time and to specification
Update copy and images on designs for final delivery and implementation
Build components and templates
Work closely with production artists and web developers to ensure high quality execution of designs into working digital consumer experiences
Perform print production and mechanicals, when necessary
Retouching/re-coloring images
Do basic proof reading.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 2-5 years of professional experience in digital design
Mobile experience highly preferred
Excellent computer skills
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 5 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver) HTML, Microsoft Office, and designing for the web are key components to be successful in this role
Not required but ideal candidate should be familiar with HTML5, JavaScript, CSS2/ CSS3, and other standard web presentation tier technologies
The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills and a positive and professional attitude
Proficient in Internet and web-related activities
Strong problem solving skills
Organizational skills and high attention to detail
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
